Unsure if color too dark for hallway???
Comments (15)Trailrunner, LOL, I don't want to even see paint anymore! I'll tell you what...as long as your home doesn't have moldings on the wall, I will paint anytime! Yes, the house is about 100 years old. I am just about done except for touchups on and around the moldings. Now that it is almost done it really doesn't look too dark. JJAM: Yep it's blue and my house doesn't have any blue in it so it will be replaced with another runner probably with a pattern of some type. Hondagirl: too late and I don't want to ever paint the hallway again. I could have continued with the latte. It might have had more flow, but I WILL be happy with this. Funny, I call this dark and everyone else says medium. Except for my Raspberry Truffle dining room, this is the "darkest" color in the home. Thanks everyone for your input. I will post photos once I find the carpet. BTW..just for the record. Restoration Hardware paint is pretty good. Kind of reminds me of BM Aura. Nice finish and isn't drippy....See MoreI want to fire my GC, but I'm unsure how it will work w/$ paid
Comments (6)How does your periodic payment arrangement work? Are you paying him the 1st and 15th of the month, or are payments tied to subcontractors' performance benchmarks (X amount due when plumbing roughing completed, another X due after electrical roughing completed)? I agree that you'll need legal advice but your architect can probably do a thorough walk-through and give you an estimate of completion percentage on the job. On the GC markup, it's 20% where I live (NYC). And I totally sympathize with your situation. We're about to part ways with our HVAC guys, and it is stressful, worrying and aggravating. Hang in there....See Moreunsure what to do
Comments (7)'quit taking it personal' I cannot state this strongly enough: you are in danger. This guy is: slandering you, making you physically uncomfortable, living off you, trying to get control of your home & other assets. & he will get more aggressive, not less. He's taking over your life & your assets as aggressively as any other predator, & he won't stop until he's destroyed your self-confidence & taken control of your money, home, & autos, & then he'll either change the locks & you'll be on the street, or he'll assault / attack /beat you. or assault you & *then* throw you on the street. He feels entitled to do whatever he wants, & you need to protect yourself; 'entitled' people can turn violent if crossed. You want to make this between him & the police or the courts, not between him & you. Colleenoz is absolutely right: Change the locks *now*, & get that protective order. He can get his things later, after you've boxed them up & set them outside or put them into a storage unit. Do not let him inside that house, & if he comes to the house or your work or your son's school, call the police at once. I wish you the best....See MoreWhat color window boxes should I choose? Sooo unsure.
Comments (23)Thanks for the help everyone. I went ahead and ordered them in white. But only bc I'm still unsure. They can be painted (which is what they do if I order the black). I am going to try them on the house in white but if I am not happy I will take them down and have them painted. I think this is the safest way. I'll post some pics when done. We are scheduled to have it all done in June. There are 3 jobs in front of mine right now. Now to order new lights for the house....another difficult chore. Oy vey!...See Moreawm03
