serge, can you post a photo of the entire tree, and then some closeups of the affected leaves? This looks to me either like a virus or possibly something physical, like damage from a spraying of something. You can always send this to your local Master Gardener or Extension office for ID as well, and include all the photos mentioned. Where are you located, you don't indicate in your Zone field. Thank you both. I'll post a picture of the whole tree(s) as soon as possible. But yes, the grass is literally (and figuratively) greener on the other side, since our neighbor has a sprinkler system! The trees are on the west side of the street - one gets more sun than the other, which is largely shaded by the other neighbor's huge oak tree. It's definitely not significant damage, but appears to be getting worse, which is why I wanted to identify it now in case there's anything we should/can be doing to correct the issue. smivies - do leaf miners create that sort of yellowing of the veins? I thought they created their own "paths" within the leaf. Something is definitely munching on a number of our plants - the witch hazel, apple trees, cherry tree.

I was going to say look for sawfly larvae on your damaged plants, but they don't bother canes. Any chance deer are coming through and stripping your roses? If so, I'd spray them with a repellent (I've had great success with Liquid Fence Deer & Rabbit Repellent) and see if the damage stops.

Yeah, it looks like most soil tests don’t measure for nitrogen since it fluctuates too much. I’m going to send a sample into MSU to check on everything else though. The raised bed was just built this year, so I don't have anything to compare with. Maybe they’re a little bit too light green? I don't know, I'm very new to this. And the darkening is progressing VERY fast. You can see how dark the leaves are in this compared to the original ones I posted. The lower leaves have all died off, although this picture doesn't show that.
