kjeppy, I just had mine replaced and the details look good. One recommendation I'd make is to measure your roof yourself if possible. I had 3 or 4 bids and the company with the best reputation was way over on his number of squares required. He came back and found he made a mistake, but better to know for sure what the true size is. Obviously the bid will be higher due to waste, and most of the bids laid out the actual square size and total squares required due to waste. Also around my area ice and water shield in the valleys is standard, but not at the eaves. I added that as an extra and luckily was at home when they tried to just slip regular felt paper down since that's what they do on 99% of the houses in my area. Point being be home if possible to watch the work since it's only 1 day. I doubt you'll catch anything but it's good peace of mind. Do you currently have roof vents or a ridge vent? The quote is pretty vague about that. If you currently have vents and are sticking with vents I'd expect them to be replaced as part of the install. If you have a ridge vent then it looks fine.

I really don't think this is a Houzz problem - my messaging works perfectly fine and always has. I just dislike the tiny little box one has to work with and will encourage anyone messaging me for an extended discussion to use my personal email instead. I think rather the issue is with whatever browser you are using and the device. I use Opera under Windows 10 on my laptop and have none of the navigational, format or input issues others seem to have bug them constantly. I seldom ever use my iPhone for access as it is just too awkward to work with and the screen too small to see. And the navigation through the site by phone sucks!

Layering is often the most successful method of propagation for many types of plants. Ever try to root a juniper? Layering is such an easy way, the blamed things do it themselves. Trying to root juniper cuttings without using mist is far less than "hit and miss". As with any propagation method, some genetic types are always going to be much more successful than others. Some types simply root more easily than others, period. Some types have thicker, more developed cambium layers than others. Multiflora and Wichurana types are always going to be easier to root than many others. Chinas are often not that difficult, as are minis, which are supposed to be based heavily on "China" types. Teas, in my experience, even under ideal conditions and regular mist, have traditionally been the more hit and miss type to propagate. They are also the type which for many, have been the slowest to establish themselves and mature, as well as the type most resistant to hard pruning, compared to many more modern roses as well as a great many older "classes". Layering, or "air propagation" can work quite well, as long as it's done properly and nothing disturbs the process while it is being done. In many gardens, it just isn't as easy to deal with as removing the cutting and putting it where it can more easily be dealt with.

Oh brother, and now they have changed the notification window. I see there is a notification there, I click on the bell, now I am in a two sided window. On the left is notifications, on the right are messages. It opens to messages every time. I get notifications for activity on threads I am following probably 50 to 1, yet now I will have to keep clicking on notifications to get to them and get off the messages section. And they have done away with the 'Mark All Read' button that I use a lot. Nowhere to be found. Interesting, I wondered, since I am on Houzz, what if I switched back to Gardenweb. Sure enough, under Gardenweb, is the old notification window with the 'Mark as All Read' button. Omgosh, I just got a message from someone on this thread, I saw an email notification pop up from my mail program to alert me to this email about the message. I go to the notification button that then had the number 1 on it. I open it, it opens to messages, it's empty. Instead it shows the number 1 on the notification side. I click on notifications and there is the notice that I have a message...! lol. Okay, before I drive myself completely crazy, I am going to have to give up on Gardenweb for the day. :-)
