My 2nd Bag & Sphag - Wish Me Luck!
Comments (18)I've taken the Den keiki out of the baggie, placed it into a small clay pot with some bark, and left a couple of strands of moss loosely bunched at the root area... I've got the clay pot set in a clay saucer, and under that is a plastic saucer with a little water in it. The whole thing is sitting on a heating pad under grow lights. I hope this covers the light, warmth, and a bit of humidity. I'll watch it closely, and add water as needed. I really wish our greenhouse was up and operational right now... it will be a while before growth appears on the Coelogyne without that advantage! Everyone is seeing new growth on theirs already... everyone except me! The pbulb is quite wrinkled, but it's still green and the leaves are both still hanging in there! No sign of new growth yet, but I don't have the advantage that a greenhouse gives. I must say... this is all so exciting and suspenseful! Regardless of the outcome, I look at this as a wonderful opportunity to learn, and to hone my skill at growing! Now I'm wondering if I should do anything different with the Coelogyne? Should I move it into more light? Dare I put it into a clay pot with bark? Or am I just freaking out?!...See Morephotobucket attempt
Comments (22)Hi Lora - Certainly I am not a teaser *ROFL* - it is simply a little bit tricky to trick out the html software which is designed to translate the relevant html codes into orders instead of simply displaying them. I have now mastered this challenge (German terminology) or should I be sayin' ironed out the problem & eh' voilà : First copy the TAG line 2 times behind one another img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/haweha/010_25.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/haweha/010_25.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com"> 2nd: Link to your THumbnail image to be displayed simply by adding "th_" to the second individual photo file name img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/haweha/010_25.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/haweha/th_010_25.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">href> 3rd: replace and add the codes as given below - this makes a Link from the original photo file name (address): a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/haweha/010_25.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/haweha/th_010_25.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">/a href> href>...See MoreWish me luck
Comments (17)I'm always amazed at how far those tiny guys can travel if they get a mind to. You're doing exactly the correct thing by not messing with them. When I clean my containers, I take out all the leaves, shake the container gently over a paper towel to remove the loose fras, and wipe the bottom of the container with a slightly damp paper towel if there is still lots of fras left. Then I just put all the leaves back in, plus some fresh. As the leaves get eaten and dried out, you can eventually tell which are too dry or old, and which they're still eating, and remove the old. Just check the leaves carefully for any strays that might still be resting on them. If they are, I either put the whole leave back in, or trim the excess off and just put the cat and a small portion back in. If you have lots of cats, it can be painstaking work when they are small. Comments (29)I need 25+ miles per gallon and it has to be fun to drive. It is just a highway rocket. In town it is the suburban and dw Marquis. I inherited her Camaro when she drove it hot. After a motor overhaul I got it cause she had a new Marquis. Im 6'2" and 240. The Camaro is all motor and sits 6" off the ground with larger tires. I learned to get in it without support it is an acrobatic feat, kind of falling in and a crunch getting out or a hand on the ground. Only thing good is 30 mpg on highway. All of my whites are duds. CG rocks, I would like a red. I looked up the gradiata sp? My Texas pink is blooming quite a pretty bloom. Big plants but bloom 1/10 of CG he is blooming always. I have never hit them with a blooming fertilizer hard. I will soon as our temps slide some. He (CG or uncle Charles) will be chopped up and cloned. I hope the offspring carry all the traits of the parent which it should. This one is designed for South Texas. Never a problem all year long not even mites. I guess it is cause he is next to sprinkler head or it is all the fuzzy leaves and stems. You guys need to get with the polymers. I am amazed as the further I go out the protection and the leaves, flowers and plants health through the hardest time of the summer. It was really not made for heat but cold... Time to shut it down sheep feeding time. Good Night ladies and gents. Jim...See MoreNeil
