Those $25 Craig'sList chairs ...
Were the last of the big time bargains for us! We got our little "media room" (although we are lowbrow and prefer to call it "the TV watchin' room") set up, at least partially, and have been enjoying reconnecting with our favorite programs after being without service for a little while during the move. I think the $25 (each) chairs work perfectly in here. I would like an ottoman or two though. I like to put my feet up!

8 years agolast modified: 8 years agoI took a few photos earlier today of the little landing outside the TV room. I would eventually like to replace the wicker chair (not sure how well you can see it here) with something else. Not sure if the trunk will stay here, although it's handy in that it holds my knitting supplies and I'll be working on projects in the adjacent library. The cats love this space for some reason!
The curio cabinet holds my treasured Hopi kachinas and Navajo folk art, and the warrior paintings were done by a favorite young Potawatomi artist. I brought the red Navajo rug back from a visit to historic Hubbell Trading Post that I made with my dad a few years back and it holds special memories.

Comments (8)I believe in pruning young citrus to give time for the trunk to gain strength for support. I'd cut back those 2 long leaders shooting up to about 4 good nodes each. Comments (42)While I so appreciate the praise, I am pretty sure with a bit of guidance via blogs or You Tube videos, that all of you could do this. This project had no sewing except for the double welt. I REALLY lucked out with that coffee table for $25, and finding the perfect fabric. dlm2000, I'm sorry I missed your question on the welt 'flange'. It just gets cut away, after sewing the welt and before gluing it to the piece. I hope that blog I linked above helps. Comments (14)I live about 45 minutes north of Tampa/St. Pete. Clearwater beach is the place to be now. Water temp is reported every morning in the newspaper. Up to 72 degrees as of this morning. One neighbor lost a tree as a result of Irma. I picked up sticks in my yard - it took about 45 minutes. Never lost power. Irma did bad things on the east coast of Florida even though it went up the west coast of the state.
