Seeds, larkspurs, bachelor buttons and tiger lilies ---- WEEDS

At this time of year how do you weed, yet leave the seeds of the flowers you love? Last year I weeded one bed very carefully, and this year I had few larkspurs. Yet, I do not want the entire bed to get out of control. Besides larkspurs it has tiger lilies, phlox, roses, and lilies.

When I weed, I shake out the weed before tossing it. But if I give some order to the bed, I seem to lose too many larkspurs for the next year. The same thing happens in the bed where I have bachelor buttons.

Now that I am planting many perennials, I would sure like to know if there are things you do to keep from losing the seeds. Fortunately I can see the new growth of phlox, but others like larkspurs do not seem to show themselves until spring.
