Your Commute

Rob333's post about looking at a house she loved that would entail a longer commute, and some of the messages you all posted got me thinking about commutes.

My current commute is pretty easy. Its just over 10 miles from my house to the parking garage, and usually less then 15 minutes drive +/- about a minute depending on traffic followed by a 8 minute walk to the building I work in. On the way to work there are 2 stop signs and 3 traffic lights. On the way home there's one traffic light and 3 stop signs.

Other directions out of town are much more affected by traffic, such that going the same 10 miles will average 20 minutes and will be more like 40 minutes during rush hour.

In the past at one job in Dublin, Ohio, I could see the building I worked in from my apartment, and it was about 5 minutes door to desk.

In Minnesota it was 27 miles from our house in White Bear Lake to where I worked in Eagan about 30 minutes of Interstate on a good day, but the route went right through downtown St. Paul so there weren't a lot of good days, and a bad day could be 90 minutes.

So for those who work or used to work tell us about your commute.
