Is it at all possible you backed it up using the wrong suffix? Do you still have the original file on your hard drive. If you did give it the wrong suffix and you still have the original file on the hard drive simply burn it to the CD again with the correct suffix. If you deleted the original then copy the messed up file back to the hard drive and rename it with the correct suffix, then burn it again.

One reason I read is to help me engage and better understand the world around me. Well written, insightful fiction can help me understand the hearts of people; non-fiction, particularly history, helps me keep the present in perspective. I liked all the other reasons above also. Yours made me laugh, bigdogstwo. It reminds me of a friend's story about when she was little. She went into the bathroom, locked the door and emerged hours later when she finished her book: a place to read in peace. I read when I was folding towels when I was a child: one basket could take hours. Once I was reading while walking home from school and ran into a newly painted telephone pole. I came home with my new dress decorated with a large green splotch in the front! Not a good idea.

I spent a glorious three weeks in Dickens’s world of Pip and then David, feeling the childhood pleasure of being told a good story, while the adult brain analyzed and admired the master’s literary gifts. Then I finished Like, Follow, Subscribe by Fortesa Latifi, a slim (non-fiction) analysis of the befuddling phenomenon of “momfluencers” and ”family vlogging.” It’s a slim book (took half a day to finish), seems like a balanced treatment of these parents who monetize their children’s childhood. I was not familiar with this world of family vlogging and women with a GED making millions from sponsorships. Every other word in the book was new to me, but apparently part of today’s vocabulary, and the words were coined to signify a phenonmeon, also new to me. Momfluencer? tradwives? sponcon? Oh, the Mormon church encourages and monetarily supports women to do family vlogging?! I knew of influencers, though only second-hand. Even the plain old influencers baffle me, like, who are these people?! and who are the people who view these things? and you get paid to do this ”content creation”? But I knew nothing of this whole family vlogging-thing. The book, to someone like me, felt like an anthropologist’s account of an unknown tribe and its culture. Anyway, glad I read it. It’s a light read, well-researched (even if ’research’ seems like too serious a word for this silliness) and reasonaly well done.
