Z-Line or Golden Vantage Range Hoods
Comments (0)The quest still continues for Range hoods. The truth is there are just too many choices! I am on a tight budget but love some of the features of the more $$$ brands. Some of those features Z-Line & Golden Vantage range hoods have. These 2 brands are for sale through amazon and are a fraction of the price. Has anyone had any experience good or bad with eiher of these brands?? Thanks so much :)...See MoreCalling all Sirius Range Hood owners!
Comments (2)To mommycooks: I was considering Sirius too, but had to drop that option, as it was explained to me that they're all made of stainless steel four-hundred-something, which is one of the cheapest grades of stainless steel. It may turn yellowish after a while. As I was told, one of the best grades is 304 - it has something to do with nickel content. Plus, 600 CFM is a little bit too low compared to other italian manufacturers - which might explain the low noise rating....See MoreBacksplash on range/hood wall - thoughts?
Comments (0)Hi All, Well - we're down to crunch time, after much lurking, and SLOW decision making, my contractor is currently pulling up floor in the next room, while I "work" in my noisy office next door. That said - struggling with a few last minute decisions (well, lots including countertop...), including the backsplash. My original plan had been to run the backsplash (9.5" x 23.5" creamy/greyish ceramic tiles) up the full wall behind the range. However, I'm struggling with where it should stop, in line with the left cabinet, or at the edge of the door frame. Since then I've had the suggestion to just run it full height above the range with a single row of tile above the rest of the countertop, OR to run it across the full wall, but only as high as the bottom of the range. Wondering about your thoughts? I've included a shot of my accent tile, which is the same size/colour as the plain tile, but a bit more 'interesting'. I'll use the accent tile from the counter to the base of the uppers on all other walls. In the photo ignore the original hood spec - the KD didn't have the correct placement/size of the actual hood - which I've redrawn in pink. Our cabinets are cream, counters will be dark (either granite or slate), and the range is actually a hunter green colour. Many thanks for any insight!...See MoreThoughts on Range Hood
Comments (31)Yes my husband will be building a custom island for me, it's going to have turned legs, a book shelf on either end, and a plain back (probably with some beadboard panels). Most likely will be painted in a black or gray with some distressing, and a butcher block countertop. He's also building me a small farmhouse table to butt up against the island (I'm opposed to bar stools lol)...See MoreShay Moore
