Comments (7)With hot weather, Aeoniums go dormant, so if it stays in a hot place it will drop a lot of leaves and curl up to protect the growing point at the center of the rosette. When dormant, water sparingly to avoid rot. Here in So Cal they go dormant for the summer if away from the immediate coast where the temperatures stay mostly very mild. Comments (1)It looks like one of the sedum family, but also like it could use a lot more light. What you do depends on what you like: I prefer to leave them to trail, others like to cut and replant. Comments (13)It could be very simple - if you have just few succulents, you can start with a LED lightbulb suspended over plants (or any light fixture that you can adjust so light is above. Something like this: You could find probably around $10 or so, in any home improvement stores (probably even in Wallmart and similar stores). They can be just hanging, or clip on. If yo are after better 'look', you can get them in many finishes, but I would make sure inside is either white or silver for best light reflection. Cost will differ according to what you get. Wider is better, since it will illuminate wider area (this area also depends on a distance). If you need to, look up some light distribution charts. Get a good lightbulb, as high kelvins as possible (not below 4000, and preferably higher). Here is a link to LIGHT BULB COMPARISON. To illuminate wider ara (more plants), you may be better off with a strip-type lights, like flourescent tubes. These can be also found in LED. Start with distance further away (since plants may burn with sudden, strong light) and adjust closer and closer every few days or a week. If you have any sunny, outdoor space, you should keep them outside during warmer moths. Same as with lights, they should be acclimatized/hardened off to brighter sunlight....See More- 8 years ago
