New construction windows - Boston area, vinyl, fiberglass or wood

I'd posted before when our installer fumbled our order for replacement Marvin Ultimate windows, and as we've had more time to reflect on the glass loss of replacement windows, we're reconsidering our options. Several windows vets on here were helpful the first time around, and I'd be curious to know your thoughts.

House is early 1960s and a tear down for this neighborhood, which means while it's in fine condition, new homes are going for 3x what ours does, so money spent on top windows like Marvin will likely not be recouped if we were to ever sell. New construction homes go for 3mm+ and most use Pella windows; not sure which ones, but we've confirmed they're not wood.

We have a classic Colonial and would like to maintain the classic look. We hate the idea of glass loss. What should we be looking at?
