T, you're still not getting what I'm saying. lol. WiFi Adapter. Many older (and not so old) computers cannot access WiFi because they simply are not equipped to receive signals from WF routers. You buy an adapter to instantly receive signals from the WiFi router. I have 4 PC's, business and personal. Three of them are new, the other one is 11 years old. Works great, but it won't access the Internet because of not having the WiFi signal stuff already in it. It worked great with DSL. WiFi...no Internet. Hence, a WiFi adaptor is needed. It's no big deal, just a little adapter is all. Look it up.

The place to begin when investigating wall and ceiling cracks is with the foundation. Start by looking in your basement and outside at the foundation walls. Do you see cracks there? If so then there may have been (or still have) some movement there. That's a major issue, if present. One of the major causes is for water to have been allowed to stand and/or run up against the foundation wall for a prolonged period, causing expansion and contraction of the soils and heaving of the foundation. This situation is easily remedied by ensuring positive drainage away from the house. If this has been present and caused damage, however, a structural engineer may be needed for remedial action. So begin by checking your foundations and basement. If there are no signs of cracking there, then in all likelihood the cracking is a result of differential drying and normal movement of wood, plaster, and other materials (and/or poor workmanship). In this case, the cracks should be able to be patched and servicable for a long time. After all the house was built in 1919! If your foundations are sound, the house is sound! Good luck!

We are still likely 2 years out, but for us it's absolutely location, location, location. We love our current home's location (1880's farmhouse) we have amazing neighbors, property to boot (we live on over 200 acres but most neighbors have 5-10 acres) but the house doesn't work for us, and believe me we've explored every option to make it work. [We've gutted the house, added/removed walls, remodeled kitchen, added bathroom & closets but every fix is really just a band-aid.] There are so few houses within a 1 mile radius and only 1 or so comes up for sale a year, believe me, we've been inside every single home that's been for sale within a mile in the last 7 years. SO, we are eventually building a house a quarter mile down from our current and will just rent out our farm house. Plus, the majority of homes around us have been built in the last 20 years and all of which are custom. It's mind-boggling to me what some people build. I can't fathom spending the same (or likely - more) as it is to build, on a home where I'd feel there are so many improvements that I'd need to make to help flow, aesthetics, function etc.

Dedtired- how do you like your new iPad so far? The 10.5" is intriguing but I wonder if it's more than I need so I was curious what you thought. I like the keyboard/cover too. I know how you feel about the mental exhaustion - this week I've been researching cell phones but when I discovered that Verizon will give me $200 additional off an iPad I figured I'd upgrade that too and give my 9.7" to my DDIL. She's pregnant with her first and may find the iPad handier than her big Macbook. As I mentioned in my other thread my son gave me an iWatch a month ago that's still in the box. So I envision moving into my local Apple store while I take their classes - luckily I have 2 Apple stores within 8 miles so I can spread my ignorance around a little. lol
