What greenman said is spot on. My experience with plants from big box stores is that they are almost invariably root bound. This means that it will take a lot of work to properly prepare the plant for planting. If the root problems are not corrected, they will likely lead to the premature death of the tree. I usually get my container citrus from major wholesale producers. Even from very very good producers, container production yeilds trees with pretty abysmal root problems as you get into the larger container sizes like #15s. The #5s are pretty easy to fix since the problems are fairly close to the surface. The #15s on the other hand generally have a bottom mass of roots from the #5 in the center of the root ball and at least a couple of j roots and girdling roots deep in there that need to be cut out. And these are generally fairly high quality plants that aren't allowed to get root bound. It's just the nature of container production. Almost every container tree I have ever purchased, thousands, has had the root flare too deep and major structural problems. The larger the container, the worse the root problems. Those prices for #15s are insane.

I find the kindle fire much too heavy to read on and I have the smaller one. I also do not like the way pages turn. You cannot read one handed as you can w/ the regular kindle (at least I can't) and you have to touch the screen which I find distracting, not as reliable and I need to worry that my hands aren't wet or don't have popcorn butter on them, which is not an issue with my regular kindle. I also REALLY don't like the bright colored screen when reading on it. It is like reading on a computer and I prefer to feel more like I am reading a real book, not a computer screen (I look at computer screens all day for work). With my regular kindle, I can use it outside or to read in the tub and this would not be possible at all with a kindle fire. I can forget that I am on a device and feel like I am just reading a book. I don't get that w/ the Kindle Fire. A basic kindle (not touch- I hate the touch and got rid of my Kindle touch) can be had pre-owned for like $35-$40 from cowboom. I would definitely just pick one of those up to read on and not try to read on either the fire or ipad, whichever you decide to get. I've bought two kindles from here already because I want to have one in each of our houses and they've both been in good condition. I've also dropped my regular kindle MULTIPLE times (onto concrete, and falling off a hammock onto a flagstone patio when my dog jumped onto the hammock) and the kindle is none-the-worse for the wear. Love my iPad. I had the iPad 1, but gave it to my granddaughter a few months ago when iPad 4 came out. I'm even thinking of getting a mini because I want to have something slightly bigger than my iPhone when out and about...Nuts, I know! Plus the Apple store has the refurbished mini for $279 right now. I have bought many, many ipods, etc. from Apple refurbished and have never had one problem with any of them. They have all been like new. I like my retina display, but I think the mini even without retina display is perfectly fine. My first iPad I got with both wifi and 3G, but won't anymore because it is easy to tether and use it with the cell phone's coverage. Also, the iPad 2 is still produced and a very economical. alternative. I don't know what your winnings were, but I say go for it now!!

Oh yeah, if I lived closer to the Apple store, I'd already have one.. and a MacBook air! (Though I am not a fan of the PC store.. OK, so the things that start sucking up space are Movies (HD especially), photos/videos, and certain video intensive games. Other files take up space but text files are pretty darn small. Maybe I sound like a cheapskate, but I can buy (and have) a 1 Terabyte passport for less than the price diff between the 64GB ipad air 2 and the 128GB. Given the low cost of storage, the price diff between the models is ridiculous. I am a very casual gamer. I am not recording music with Garage Band or any of the other music composition apps. Other than scrabble, I might play 1-2 games a year. I won't use the camera extensively and when I do, I won't store photos on the ipad. I think the 64GB will be fine. I actually think the 16GB will be fine but I'll go 64. :) Thanks so much everyone!!
