Looking for ideas for outdoor furniture for our new deck
Comments (15)Sorry I posted friday evening and was out of town over the weekend. My problem is I am not liking the dining sets sold because I am looking for something modern and those are only wood. DH doesn't want anything wood. I love the wicker conersation sets with white cushions so that it will bring a pop but it will not be good for MI weather. Maybe I could try buying a red cushion wicker set from Walmart and put some bright pillows along with a bistro set or use a folding table with plastic chairs for this year for a big party. What do you all think this set for my deck. I have pasted the link below. Thanks for all your help. Nanbella and Lizbeth-gardner: Thank you for the suggestion to not go white. It makes me think that it will not belong there. Roarah: I love your blue chairs with metal frame. It is beautiful. I will check out homedepot. DH doesn't want us to do wood. Otherwise teak will be a great idea because they have a lot of modern furniture for dining in teak. jab65: My costco doesn't have patio furniture anymore. I will check craigslist too. cyn247 and chemocurl: Maybe I have to wait for next spring. Because most of the stores are almost out of patio furniture. I could try using a folding table with table cloth for my large party this year. Annz: That is a geat suggestion to bring the pop of color from cushions and flowers. Comments (7)Thank you, bifenton, Fun2Bhere, peppapoodle, and OutsidePlaying for your kind comments. This was quite an improvement over the old server that had seen better days. I was thinking of making a portable removable shelf only used for BBQ's-- about 24 X 30" long and 8" high, so that I can put the paper plates, utensils, and cups on the shelf thus freeing up the entire surface for the food platters. This surface is smaller than our old top which was about 60" long. However, the water source was on top of the old top and that took up some room. Here is the pic I was looking for...The official Beer Guard. this was before the sink and faucet was installed. Outside Playing, there is also juice boxes for the kids. :)...See MoreHelp with outdoor kitchen and deck layout
Comments (4)FWIW, here are my thoughts. I am on eastern Long Island. I installed an outdoor kitchen in 2017. Some things I would do the same and some I would do differently. I have an L-shaped kitchen with a 36” Lynx grill, an Avanti fridge, a large Blanco sink and a few storage drawers and access doors. Grill is on short side. Sink and fridge are on long side. Counter seating for six on the long side and end. If you have significant sun/wind exposure, pay attention to which side the grill and fridge face. Even though I have an outdoor-rated fridge, the sun hits it dead-on for several hours each day. Sometimes I feel like I have tomdrape a beach towel over the counter and let it hang in front of the fridge on very hot days to reduce the amount of time that the sun is hitting the front of the fridge. The wind most frequently comes at a 90 degree angle to the grill and sometimes causes the grill flame to blow out when it is set very low. So in my setup, I probably would switch placement of the grill and the fridge. Get as big a sink as you have room for. The outdoor sink is the best place to clean the grill grates, among other things. The Lynx grill was very expensive. It cooks great and is very powerful, but I think the build quality could be better. The Avanti fridge was very inexpensive and is great. I didn't want to spend a lot because I was convinced that the elements would make it fail, but it has worked like a champ....See Moreoutdoor beach deck
Comments (1)I cannot imagine a table and chairs thta would have more than 2 chairs and a tiny table . I aslo would not do a sectional for seating since to me the view is the one right infornt of you along the long wall . IMO a nice group of Deck chairs all along that wall with small end tables placed between every 2 chairs comfy chairs a place to put a drink and sit all day and enjoy the view . Even a 30" table is too big to have chairs at it . Friends of ours had a t serving platform made to hang on the deck rail for appetizers ,...See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
