DONT KILL THEM WITH TOO MUCH LOVE ... most of these plants.. can bend completely over in a snow.. and pop most of the way back ... and we can get it the rest of the way ... you can harm it.. by going out there and shaking the poor thing to death TRYING TO HELP IT ... so be careful ... sometimes you need to do something.. other times not ... i used to go out in every storm.. and freeze my buns off ... trying to save all my babes .... now i stay warm during the snow.. and ignore them afterwards.. and my success rate is the same ... also .. on theme.. proper staking will reduce the need to react .... and you are already thinking about that .... i always worry when staking.. that my tying them up isnt going to cause more problems.. than leaving them bend ... always something to worry about.. go figure... level or high is ok ... too deep can be a problem .... but proper packing of the soil.. which you will learn over time ... is best.. it shouldnt sink or be above ground ... just plant 100 more trees/conifers.. you will learn.. lol .. ken...See MoreFor FF users who like older versions
Comments (9)I've been using Firefox since longer than I can remember, and a beta version has never been pushed to me. Auto-updates to release versions, yes. Beta versions, no (I am not subscribed to the beta channel and have never been forced to it). Regards to browser security, there's a newly discovered vulnerability in the SSLv3 protocol -- POODLE is the acronym. It's a combination of browser and server. SSLv3 was superseded some while ago by TLS, but many servers are still running SSLv3 (along with TLS). A secure browser connection that starts on TLS can be tricked into downgrading to SSL 3.0 (if the connecting server still supports it), and a hacker can intercept bits of the data flow when that happens. The expectation is that SSL 3.0 will not be patched since it's considered outdated. Servers that are running it will (should) soon be reconfigured to no longer support it. Users who are running old browsers that don't support TLS will no longer be able to connect to secure sites such as online banking or shopping after servers no longer support SSLv3. The recommended defense until servers are fixed to to eliminate SSLv3 is for users to set their browser to not allow SSL 3.0 connections (minimum TLSv1). If your old browser of choice (or requirement) doesn't support TLS then you're stuck being susceptible, and will be out-of-luck when SSLv3 is fully redacted. IE6 , for example, supports TLSv1 but the option is not enabled by default, it must be manually turned on. (TLS is currently up to v3, which IE6 does not support past TLSv1.) Test your browser...See Moreinstalling FF 3 question - dial up
Comments (4)Jan that will work fine and you can just install it right over the top of the one you have now if you rather do it that way, I always do mine that way, they say it is better to do a clean install but I have never ever had a problem just getting the new one and installing it right on top and that way you are sure it will keep all your settings and faves and profile info. Just put your flash drive in and then move the FF exe to your pc and double click it to begin the install. Watch as you do it step by step because I think it may ask if you want google toolbar or some other stuff, I never accept that stuff if I want it I can add it later, now if you want it they you have the option to check it to have it install too. I usually just want my FF. the installer has no idea what you downloaded it to so no problem there you just go to the exe file and go, the wizard will guide you. It will ask if you want to make firefox your default browser you can choose if you do or not but that can always be set later, if you do not know. we are all going to have to change over to ff3 real soon because the support for the older versions are ending in a month or so unless they change the schedule....See MoreAnyone Have a washer they love? Comments (2)I wouldn't go by anything CR says. And this isn't something new. They've been called out on SO many of their claims over the years. I'm afraid that's why so many have LGs...Consumer Reports lists them as one of top rated :( I'm sure it's not the "best" washing machine out there, but I'm extremely happy with my GE 5 cu ft, agitator top load (with wifi). Yeah, I didn't think I would use wifi that much either but I do. It's quiet. It's extra large, it has extra deep water levels...I like a lot of water too. One time I tricked the washer into thinking there were more clothes in it than there really was by adding a pot full of water to the wash BEFORE turning it on. So it dispensed even more water. It also has a "water station" that can dispense just plain water or water and detergent for hand washing or pretreating. It meets our needs. I'm happy with it...BUT I don't use it with the intended water functionality. It does not have a heater but seems to put out VERY hot water on the hot water mode...as well as warm water for the warm mode. https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-5-cu-ft-High-Efficiency-Top-Load-Washer-White-ENERGY-STAR/1001050938...See More- 10 years agolast modified: 10 years ago
