rich, High quality paint applied with a high quality roller (lint free) should provide quality results over a professionally prepared wall. What may be wrong? Re-coated too soon. Too much pressure on roller. Rolling over paint that has already *set* up. Easy to do with quality, fast drying waterbornes. That will pull the paint and leave a texture. Tip: In the future, use high quality, 1/2" nap roller covers. Once you begin to roll, do not pause for anything until you've reached a breaking point; corner, door, etc. The house was built in 1954 and I have no idea what's in all the layers. You will be working with the top layer. But, avoid any scraping or dry sanding on any walls in that house. Lead Paint. You can work safely with lead paint. Follow the guidelines in the EPA homeowners remodeling guide. Wet surface sanding is a safe method. Follow disposal instructions of wash waters. There are also guidelines to live by when the dwelling is known to have lead based paint and other products. Weekly maintenance reduces the risk. Covering over the drywall may be your best option. To do this, locate and mark all underlying studs with a stud finder before starting and use longer drywall screws to go through the extra thickness. You could then hire a taper to tape and finish the drywall. They probably would not charge much for just the wall. Or you could try the taping yourself - if you do, go to the site below - it is written for beginners. Keep in mind that you will have to tape the joints and also the corners where the wall meets the other walls and ceiling. Here is a link that might be useful: Drywall Taping

So they came this morning to fix the floors. The owner of the company told our contractor he had the Bona training but the crew he sent today were the same three people we’ve had the whole time and the head guy said he has not had the bona training. He also told my husband they used 1.5 gallons of the traffic hd. For 1462 sq ft. Good grief. I think they should have used 3.5 gallons. From what we can see so far, it’s not improved. They buffed it three times and the floor looked awful after that - I’ll attach a pic. But he assured my husband it would look ok after the poly applied. So frustrated! Guess we’ll see tomorrow how it looks. They did buy a new roller. They did not ask us to turn the a/c off but my husband did. Pic attached is after buffing.
