Very funny ! Things we've heard during our kitchen remodels....
Comments (59)OK, here's a possibility. Go to the local sign or photocopy shop and have them print, in big, bold, plain(for stupids) writing, "There is a hidden surveillance camera" or omit the surv part if you live in an area with real, real stupids, "which is recording every move(ment)"!!!!OMG, my stomach really hurts. "So, if you belong here, stay and do your duty"(!!!!ha, nah, don't say doody, unless you think it clearly applies to your locale. "Joggers, go at home or go ahead 1/4 mile, but not here"(I'm a mom of a marathoner, but a considerate marathoner) or, "If you can't hold it, go home! This ain't your home!" Plaster these signs INSIDE and outside the porta.. OOOOH, I have a great idea. Instead of 'violaters will be prosecuted... something like, violaters will be given a free, disposable, mop, plastic gloves, strong trash bags and YOU will be responsible for cleaning up your mess. Who defines what is a 'mess'? Your co-workers. If they don't think it's a mess, then they can help you clean it up. If the consensus agrees that it IS a mess, then the consensus (colleagues) can video your clean up activities!!!!This is so much fun! Pecanpie, I spit out my champagne(cheap 9.5% low carb) while reading your post! It was downhill from there......Breathing is difficult. This is a 'save for posterity'(don't go there) thread. Time capsule worthy. Love it Bev I will breathe normally soon. Ok, I can't resist. We have a beach cottage where, (I wish I had written this line...no, I'm not a snob, but) the handymen have more tattoos(sp) than teeth....See MoreWhat size range should we purchase for our kitchen renovation?
Comments (10)A common problem that I find in a lot of initial postings to this forum is kitchen remodels being driven by the desired list of features. In principle, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, you should identify the features that you need and then build your kitchen around it. But inevitably, the answer then turns out to be that a bigger range is required. And that's typically not true. Very few homechefs need 8+ burners. It's really hard to keep more than a handful of burners in active use. Once you realize that, you are back to a more conservatively sized 30" or 36" range or range-top. And you start thinking about adding other appliances to fill the remaining needs that you might have. This could be a second wall oven, it could be a combination steam oven (awesome choice!), a microwave speed oven, a microwave drawer, a warming drawer, or built-in sous-vide facilities. Or of course, any combination of these appliances. Also, once you separate your needs into specialized appliances, you have more choices in both gas and/or induction models that fit your needs....See Morewhat size chandelier should we use for our island?
Comments (1)Put in the one you want to clean grody muck off of on a regular basis. As in every 2 weeks. And plan on how you’re going to reach it to remove each of those crystals to wipe them down individually. An articulating ladder rather than climbing on your island would be the better idea. But its a lot more work....See MoreShould we paint our kitchen
Comments (20)Hahaha. Thank you everyone, I love all the opinions. The floor we like and is staying. When we did the floor a years back we had many discussions about keeping the wood or replacing the tile. We, and I was the strongest, decided to keep the original layout and just flow it into the new mud room. The twinkle lights are there for decoration, my wife and kids like them. We actually do have under cabinet lighting, and some lights over the windows. I should have tuned them on. We were a day away from putting in 3 skylights a few years ago, when the contractor told me he would have to go through the roof because of the wood ceiling, we couldn’t finding any shingles to match and didn’t want a patchwork roof so we skipped them. These images are great inspiration, and I love the rough photoshop, gives me lots to think about. Thank you all....See Moreamg765
