Last pic is a "tea towel" 1st pic has popcorn stitch-that is what the little "balls" you see in groups are,2nd may be called "daisy" as center flower looks kind of like 1. 3rd 1 is variation of "pineapple" stitch. 4th may or may not be older than rest as that is old pattern. Sometimes called medallion. I had a purse mom was making of black cotton fine thread with pattern like that & front & sides were done so I thought I would finish it so decided to wash it 1st, the whole thing fell into tiny little thread pieces. It was probably #10 cotton yarn but it may have been left in sun or gotten mildew on it but it did not hold up. I've bought old linens & never had that happen before. So wash them by hand & get some instructions on how to do it & best product to use to wash them. All will need to be laid out on towel & pinned in place with stainless steel straight pins(so don't get rust spots on them & need a sugar water or some type "stiffening" to look their best. Look on web for recipes to mix it, dip & squeeze out gently & pin in place on towel until dry, then ready to use. Looking at the tea towel again it looks like the flowers were not embroidered. Are they light blue ink, if so it was not finished. Flowers would have been any color to please person doing it.

I have a bottle of the Le Blanc linen wash and silk wash. On the back of the Linen wash it lists no ingredients. I think I got this when I purchased something but I did not pay for it. It is an okay wash but I realize that I don't like liquid soaps so I would not purchase it again. I do use a liquid soap for my blacks but that is it. I use Savon De Marseille for a lot of my linens and silks and I like that much better. It is really gentle but it removes any staining that I may have. Not to brag....but I am also somewhat of an expert on laundry. I worked for a time in the product testing labrotory of a major appliance maker. We studied the science of how clothes are soiled, what makes up that soil and what products and actions are best to remove them with the least wear on the items. And cold water DOES dissolve oils and grease. It's not the heat that does it but the detergent. As an example think how you spray a cleaner on a greasy counter and wipe the grease right off....no need to boil it. And body oils do not turn to wax in spite of what the "experts" on the laundry forum say.

It has been a while since I purchased sheets but used to purchase most at Tuesday Morning because most of the packages you could feel the sheets. I passed at the lower thread count ones because I have almost always found that they felt harsh to my skin. I see online more types than my local store has had. I found out that I need to pay attention to the depth of the sheets, thickness of the mattress. I purchased and expensive set that would not fit on my mattress that I ended up using for other things. Only once have I found a set or individual sheets that would be too deep for my mattress. Last year rather than chance the store in April I ordered more slippers and they came by one of the delivery services and not by the company that IKEA hires to deliver big stuff when you select it yourself at the store.
