Fredda I was excited and looking forward to learning W 10. The local PC repair man told me he had been testing it and did not find enough benefits to make installing it worthwhile. I downloaded it and worked a few hours with it. I agree with him. It seemed to me that getting where I wanted to go and do what I wanted to do, took a lot more clicks and time to do. I have to admit, I am not young and the memory is not as sharp as it used to be. It was very difficult for me, but you maybe able to learn it quicker than I can. Good luck. I did not like having no choice about the updates.

Emma, thanks so much for your opinion of w10. Been doing a lot of reading on it and tend to agree with you. I'm feel we are probably at the same point in time and don't need to make it harder for myself. Do you use IE? If so which version and do you still like it?

I don't use IE, I use Firefox Version 28. If you don't mind which version you use you can use a newer version. In the process of prepping for W10 and then getting back to W 8 I was infected with 2 viruses the first time since I have had a computer. Never had that problem using Firefox. I don't know if that is the reason or not, but my opinion is FF is more secure.

Glad ya got back to 8 with no real damage. Been reading about ie9 & 10. Seems like would be wasted. I want to try Firefox. Is it much diff to use than ie? Lots of folks seem to really favor it. My dau uses it. Think I will see hers for openers. Will Avast work with FF?

I didn't have a problem with it. It is just a change, just realize it is a good change. The things I like most about are the ad ons. With ad block plus and the easy list you have very few if any ads on your pages. I love no squint because I can change the font sizes, the color of the pages, I hate the glaring white that MS installs. My real favorite is ghostery, which blocks the bad cookies. If you download FF, the people here or I will help you with how to do that.
