Road Trip to Southern GA - Nurseries/Garden Centers
Comments (4)If you could get more specific as to towns....I could make more recommendations..If you get the chance..Tallahassee Nursery, Esposito's and Native Nursery in Tallahassee are nearby and where I mainly go..I also would suggest Nesmith's in Thomasville Ga.They are open 7 days a week and have several greenhouses.. In Tifton is Bob'sBusy Corner. Ty Ty has Smiths Nursery..and avoid a certain other nursery there. Casey...See MoreHilton Head SC/Savannah GA Vacation
Comments (10)HD and I (with 2 children) have been to Savannah several times since we live in GA, it makes for a nice getaway. Be prepared however to fight the crowds, gnats and other flying varmints too! Also, don't forget the meat tenderizer if going to Ty Bee especially....our last vacation there ended after HD was stung by a stingray. We didn't see it and he thought maybe he had just scrapped his leg on something under the water..but after 2 days of pain, swelling in redness...we began a long trip home to North Georgia. He was in terrible pain, nauseated etc. It wasn't until several days later that I finally convinced him he needed medical attention. The MD was quite sure after hearing our account of the days leading up to our visit that it was a "vicious" stingray attack and without medical attention could have proven extremely dangerous. He strongly recommended when visiting there again (or another beach for that matter) meat tenderizer applied in a paste like form would give relief from insect bites and other creatures of the deep...look out for the jellyfish too! sorry to bring you down,,,,it's a lovely place...and we have enjoyed many days strolling across the beach early in the morning, but found the night life to be a little overwhelming...just be safe and careful...that River Walk can become quite overwhelming and crowded at night! Just don't venture too too far and expect parking to be an issue....See MoreTrip to Savannah
Comments (28)patty Vinson, your trip to Jekyll will probably be closer to 90 minutes depending on where you are starting in Savannah. The Jekyll Island Club is nice to visit and one of my favorite restaurants is Courtyard at Crane which is on the grounds. Try to get to Driftwood Beach, which is filled with fallen sun bleached live oaks. On your route to Jekyll there is a horrible speed trap on 95 at Darien, GA. The town puts up random construction zone signs and a few orange barrels on 95. They use the "construction zone" as a way to pass out tickets even if you are driving only slightly above the speed limit. They tend to go after people with out of state plates....See MoreRoad Trip planning. Kelowna BC to Clearwater area Fl.
Comments (40)roxsol The saddest part about that news article is he will get a stiffer sentence than someone who drinks and drives and kills someone. My son's 17 year old co-worker was killed by a drunk driver going on 10 years ago just west of Calgary. He got 2 years and was out in 6 months. Our justice system is a joke....See Moregsciencechick
