Quality Sofas?

I would like to find an sofa/chair retailer with the same quality and price as Room and Board, but in more traditional styles. Any suggestions? Restoration Hardware has the styes I need, but their Chinese made sofas are higher priced and lower quality than Room and Board, IMO.

Thanks for the recommendations. It is hard to look at those custom furniture web sites and feel that they sell quality furniture.

Thanks to everyone who commented! I am going to look into your suggestions! As Sabrina Alfin said, we don't own a home right now, so this is part of the reason why we don't want to spend so much on a sofa. I found some interesting ones on CB, RB, and PB but I got nervous after reading some reviews claiming that sofas from these brands became awful after only a year of moderate use (I read a couple of these on houzz). And there's also the feather situation. Anyways, thanks again!

I have Flexsteel sofas and love them. They are week made sturdy and have firm cushions. You can select lots of carefree fabrics too

I LOVE the "Dune Sofa" from Maidenhome.com. Tons of fabric choices as well as several different cushion and back options, and made in North Carolina. Great customer service and a great product for the money. You can get nice quality from Furniture Land South if you can find a style you like and a well made brand.

Finding comfortable and durable couches is almost impossible! And somehow high price does not equal quality either!!! We are a bit rough on furniture, but we do take good care of fluffing the down, rotating the pillows and pieces, etc. So far the only good couch we have had was Hickory White. Worth moving from house to house. Ethan Allen was OK too, but we don’t love their style as much. Brands we had quality, comfort and/or durability issues: Massoud, Marge Carson, Thomasville, West Elm. Recently we bought 2 Huntington House chairs and so far (1 year) they are holding up well. We got foam seat and down back pillow, and some sort of polyester-type velvet. They look good and are comfortable, let’s see if they’ll last. The Marge Carson and Massoud were bad in the first few months. West Elm lasts ok but maybe because they are uncomfortable and nobody seats on it. Thomasville fell apart after a few years.

Don, its in how their build it; starting with the frame. You wouldnt want to build a house on a weak foundation! When a upholstery manufacturer starts with a solid foundation their not likely to skimp on everything else. When your looking at an upholstered sofa in a store can you tell just by looking at it that its a quality sofa. Not likely! Whats under the cover "what you cant see" is the most important part of a quality sofa.

When a manufacturer spells out in full details how they construct their sofas is the ones you can trust. Its hard to trust any manufacturer online or in a store whether its a quality sofa if they dont advertise how its built and the type of materials they use.

I appreciate the advice

There are remarkably few reviews online for icustomsofa. Surprising for a company that has been around for a few years. I can't find complaints either, so that is good.
