I thought it was a classic floating floor installation problem. It has all the signs, except I missed the comment about middle of the room. IâÂÂm finding moisture (shrinkage in winter) not being the issue as itâÂÂs not evident across the entire installation. Just here and there? IâÂÂm guessing this is also out of the GC hands? Floor installed after closing? As far as product problems with LL. Unfortunately thereâÂÂs a long wait there (many don't get resolved) and you may find more peace by handling the problem with the installer. IâÂÂve heard many of the nightmares. IâÂÂm looking at all angles for you. Any thoughts of wiping some stain into the cracks? It may sound like a cheap fix, but some are fine by it when you weigh all the facts that will also include inconveniences and frustration in replacement. The middle of the room? That canâÂÂt be spot fixed in my opinion, unless the boards affected show a manufacturing problem. Are they narrower in width?

Thanks goodbyekitty and legallin. goodbyekitty - I loved the amendoim samples I looked at (didn't ever look into Braz. rosewood). Please post pictures when yours go in. legallin - They are conservation grade (I think that's the term the local distributor used); meaning they are longer boards with more character than a select grade, but less than a character grade. The stain is a custom mix of about 2 parts natural and 1 part chestnut. We had about 6 different sample colors across the floor before we decided on the final color.

I would certainly save a pretty penny if I skipped the panels :) However, at night and most days in the winter when the blinds are closed to keep some warmth in, the room and that wall needs a pick me up of color. (See pic below.) But I agree with all of you that I want to cover the windows as minimally as possible and just have a panel that fills the space of white wall board between the windows and at the ends. They will never close, just be stationary. Here's an updated picture of the room with current furniture. Need a coffee, end and sofa table and something for the wall on the right. The final panels would go to the floor not 3/4 as in the picture. The sample fabric I bought is not long enough. I'm liking @terriks idea of back tab panels as well.

Often the best way to approach a dual garden fencing issue is with what is commonly called a "good neighbor" fence - that is, a fence with boards alternating on both faces so that the appearance is the same on both sides of the fence. Obviously the alternating boards make them not seamless but they still retain a very high degree of privacy. And they can be both vertically or horizontally oriented.
