We Finally Did It!!!
Comments (11)Hi! Thought I'd pop in and give everyone a quick update. We just got back from spending a couple of days in Barrie. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! What a beautiful city, the waterfront is stunning, lots of parks and greenspace and beautiful landscaping everywhere. The city of Barrie is also surrounded by farmland, lakes and smaller rural towns so going camping, fishing or just for a picnic is only 10 minutes away. There's so much to do and explore that it just boggles the mind! I won't be spending too much time on the computer as we only have a month until our closing date and we have a ridiculous amount of things to do before we go. I'm so excited, I can't wait to move there but I'm not looking forward to all the packing and other yucky necessities that have to be done first. DH had a few job interviews while we were down there. They went really well and now we just have to wait and see what happens. Once he secures work I think we're going to end up renting something short-term until we get a better feel of the different areas. That way we can decide where we want to live and take our time choosing a house. The trees were just starting to get a hint of green to them and only very early bulbs were poking their heads out. It's still fairly cool there and it actually snowed a bit while we were there. Once everyting is starting to bloom, I'll have to take some pics and post them for you guys to see. Ok, off to bed now to dream of roses and wisteria and Japanese maples and cherry trees....and....and..... Oh Lord it's going to be hard waiting until I have my own garden again, lol. Good night, Cindy...See MoreWe did it, we're HOME! The good and the bad lol...
Comments (13)Thanks everybody! LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering the echo effect right now. I found out today that my furniture's not coming until mid-November!! Also, what really worked for us and our cats was to lock them in one of the bedrooms while we moved. Then after everybody had left and we were getting ready for bed, that's when we actually let them out. It was quiet all night for them while they got to explore their new home. Charliedawg, I saw your pics very soon after you moved in and am jealous how you got rid of your boxes so quickly. I must have re-organized my kitchen a 100 times already lol. Here's a cute picture! Somebody better explain to Duke that he is a CAT and not a MONKEY lol....See MoreWell we did a tin backsplash.. what do you think
Comments (26)I'd probbaly prefer to have something there at the desk -- if not the tin, maybe a fabric covered message board -- the kind with ribbons that can hold notes or photos. I like the phone out of the way, but I'd also like the look of puttin it down on the desk and having a message board across the entire area. Whatever you decide, you might just want to live with it for a bit and see how it works for you. It will be easy enough to do when you decide. The tin splash is a nice look and does compliment your sink. I considered tin for our kitchen, but it just didn't seem right here....See MoreAre we getting blackballed by buyer agents since we did a flat fee mls
Comments (49)Personally, I would get a realtor who is recommended by people in the neighborhood. It would not be worth saving the 1% in realty fees to deal with all the hassle of buyers, realty ads, reviewing contracts, etc. Also, the realtor should know how to present your house professionally and to target it to the appropriate buyers. If you cant get the price you want, maybe you can consider renting it out?...See More- 11 years ago
