remember that with trading seeds and buying plants that have been grown elsewhere, diseases normally not present in one area may show up. Same with insects of shipped plants. So just because someone else hasnt seen it before doesnt me that you wont. It may be better to go through some kind of checklist diagonsis guide. There are also steps one follows to diagnose a problem from scratch instead of assuming. When I worked at the diagnostic lab at KSU this is what we did. Kay Kieler had a decent guide on the net at one time and so did the APS (American Phytopathology Society but for some reason they took theirs down). When trying to get a diagnose done here: Rather than just a picture, one really needs as much info as possible to Dx a problem in order to really get what's going on. Things like: how much light area its grown in (whats surrounding it) preveleance of problem (one plant or many, localized area or scattered) location of problem on plant (top/bottom/leaves/stems) insects present how water how fertilized any chemicals applied (to the plant or in the area) types of mulch recent or past weather patterns soil type and there are more rememeber also that you can easily have more than one problem present.

When I got my new computer last year (XP/sp2) I had read here about using a program included in asseccories called "Program Compatibility Wizard". I also wanted my old program "Picture It 2000" (still love and use it alot) on my new machine so instead of insalling via just the CD I went through the "PCW" and didn't have a problem at all. It works like a charm and infact better then on my old XP computer because of the extra ram my new one has :o) I don't know if Vista has "PCW" so hopefully your running XP and that should work for you.

oberon, I called Atrium first thing this morning and the guy told me the following: Their 1/8" over 1/8" windows are only rated 30, for 3/4" windows. They are a 32 for 1" thick windows. I'm not sure what we have but either way we don't conform. I thanked him then called my sales lady. She was very concerned and said she had gone straight to her head sales guy who had written specs from Atrium (for all windows). I am waiting for her to call back. Honestly at this point, regardless of what she comes back with, I'm still not going to feel right about this. I'm sure there's SOMEONE there at Atrium who will tell her these are fine. But the guy I spoke to said they are NOT. And that's what is going to stick with me. I'm already anticipating an issue as I can't imagine they will just happily replace more than $4,000 worth of windows. I just feel sick. If she gets someone from Atrium to agree they are ok and I have someone from Atrium saying they are not, what do I do? Thank you in advance. :)

And it sounds pretty awful; just basil, sugar and water? Who on earth would be tempted to make this recipe as adapted in the first place?!?! I found what looks like the original recipe: here's the ingredient list for "Fresh Herb Jelly" as written in Ball Complete: 2c loosely packed coarsely chopped herbs 1.5 c unsweetened apple juice or dry white wine 1 c water 1 c white wine vinegar 1 pkg regular powdered fruit pectin 5.25c granulated sugar You make "herb juice" by boiling the herbs in the liquids, steeping, and then draining. Then on to typical canning instructions... It's sad and scary that a publication that is well-regarded by the general public should lead people astray and into dangerous territory like this. Kathy
