My order from Casita Azul came today
Comments (6)BK- Dancing Queen was one of my favorites too. I bought one in 2012 and lost it to rot this past winter. It makes me so mad because this would have been it's leap year. I lost a few in pots this year, Dancing Queen and On Stage being the two that I really loved :( I still need to find another On Stage. That one was at least 7 years old and so pretty. We had an unusual winter this year with a solid freeze Dec-Jan but then Feb turned off warmer. I remember thinking then that I should go out and turn the pots on their sides, but I didn't do it. Oh well...live and learn I guess. Linda...See MorePlumber problems and buying faucets and fixtures
Comments (4)Your plumber's attitude and his performance so far makes me wonder how confident you can be that he will guarantee his own work much less the fixtures installed. He wants you to buy everything through him because he is marking it all up and making extra profit. It seems to me that the guarantees you need to worry about are two separate issues, 1. his installation and preparation and 2. the product warranty itself. You don't need him to guarantee your Kohler toilets, you need to make sure you are buying fixtures and faucets with a good manufacturer gurantee. Most of the better internet supply houses, today, offer great pricing, free or very inexpensive shipping and backup the manufacturers warantees. So in summation I'd impress on this guy that he needs to be prepared to guarantee his work for whatever fixtures you provide and get online and choose the things you want at the best price and at the quickest shipping. There are many great suppliers available and to avoid appearing like spam or commercial here I will refrain from making recommendations but my email is open if you want info from me and there are plenty of the forum members who have recommended people here and would probably be just as pleased to help you also. Hope this helps. Terry...See MoreI feel so much better now that I spoke up....not sf related
Comments (4)I do not think it will start a war...just maybe dirty looks and cold shoulders. The funny thing is that the kids go to private school and the family walks past our house every Sunday to attend church services. You would think they are decent people.....but I feel like that is all a mask for the demons they are raising! On the 4th our town had fireworks at the park we usually go to. We walked since it is only a few blocks. On the way home they were in front of us walking. The bigger troublemaker of the two boys stopped to tie his shoe (I think so we would catch up). Well we passed the boys and their father (their mom did not go to fireworks-she does not work or anything?). When we got up to the street to cross there was lots of cars leaving the fireworks. They all rushed out in front of cars and crossed so we ended up behind them again. Well when we passed their house (it was almost 10pm) the dad had gone inside and left the two boys outside hanging out in the driveway! It was like he was asking for trouble....See Morecopper backsplash came today, and I have having second thoughts
Comments (52)nasalzak, The tiles you have should be mesh backed. You can "peel" individual tiles off and replace them with tiles of the same size. This can be done while still doing the install as a 12x12 sheet. I believe jodi in ca did this with her Jeffrey Court Fire and Ice backsplash. She took off some darker ones and added lighter glass tiles to brighten it up. Make sure the little tiles are the same size (they often say they are 1x1 but are actually 5/8 x5/8) and the same thickness (1/4 or 1/8). If you then wanted to get really creative you could insert/sprinkle some red glass in the copper, create a 3" or so wide strip of border, and continue with the copper above that. You wouldn't need that much redish glass tile depending on how much backsplash space you have. HOpe that helps a little....See Morebry911
