Love Song isn't very fragrant here in Hawaii, but it does look like it in full bloom. The bud form does NOT look like it though.

I just looked more carefully at pics of it on hmf and I see what you mean. It has that round, shapely calyx. I've always liked that in buds, it seems so elegant to me. But this one doesn't have it. I wonder what this is then. The blooms look so much like it on all hmf pics. Well, thank you :]

This is a new plant? I wouldn't discount it as Love Song based on lack of fragrance. Fragrance is relative, and on new plants, it can be light. Give it time to mature.

Diane, yes, I've had it for a few months only, but there's that thing with the shape of the buds now that I think confirms it isn't.

I don't know, it could be Love Song. Here's a couple of buds from mine.

seil, It looks very similar from the sepals & up, but the calyx still has that globular shape. The foliage and a prickle I see on the bottom pic look much alike, too. It also does the petal/sepal thing, in the guard petals. Is the new growth a clear, light green?

Hmm...no, I have a ton of new growth on mine right now and it's all a deep reddish color that turns green as it matures.

Mine is always green, I'm not sure if that's something the weather can influence, however.

It is not Sweetness, most definitely.
