Showerguard and Diamond Fusion Shower Glass protection
Comments (2)I'm interested in the same. A response from Bel Pre Glassworks (Rockville, Md): We have regular clear tempered glass or showerguard clear tempered glass. Showerguard normally is about $15 to $20.00 additional per sq. ft. They don't have Diamond Fusion. Here is a link that might be useful: Bel Pre Glass...See MoreDoes it matter what order you turn off the faucets/shower diverte
Comments (5)I'm pretty positive not. There are only 11 units; only 9 resident families (one's a duplex; one's empty). There's no room in the units to be installing devices; it's pretty tight. My big question isn't really "what's causing this?" bcs I'm pretty sure the plumber will figure it out. (I think it's a check-valve that has gone bad; we had the same problem 10 years ago when the plumber put in new water heaters & put the valve in backwards. He fixed that--but this problem is SO much like it, that's my theory--a failing check valve) But I'm just wondering--does it really matter whether you turn the shower diverter down AFTER you turn off the faucet at the handles, or BEFORE? I always thought it didn't matter, and I'd like to confirm it....See MoreDoes it matter how far the tile extends from the bathtub?
Comments (11)Sorry, that does not look good. I agree with Errant a row of your tiles running vertical would look better than that. I think it would have been fine just ending it with the full subway and the Schluter edge too. Since it is not what you discussed with your tiler, I think it's on him to make it the way you want it. You are the one that's paying him. As far as the argument about the wall getting wet just make sure the shower curtain stays inside all the way to the end of the tub. Some vinyl liners have little suction cups near the bottom edge to stick to the tub and keep water from escaping....See MoreShower Niche -- "It doesn't matter when it was installed" --Waterprfg?
Comments (8)The niche as well as the bench are constructed at the same time and are waterproofed integrally. I just finished a remodel which included a shower with niche and bench. The bench was waterproofed as part of the construction of the shower pan. I'm in SoCal but that is NOT hot mop. I live in a high rise and although it looks like hot mop it's actually cold substance which is more flexible than hot mop. Per Code, hot mop is not allowed in high rise buildings. The niche was waterproofed along with the walls - this is a picture with the first layer of Red Guard. A second layer was applied after this picture. Bench is to the left and was waterproofed with the floor of shower This is shower niche with first layer of Red Guard....See More- 8 years ago
