I thinkthis maybe a mini cholla (cylindropuntia) Grows just like the full sized cane cholla but much smaller. But with h the same beautiful flowers in magenta color. Needs little to NO water

I'm curious what the purpose of hybridizing with this species might be. Are enthusiasts trying to incorporate its curious growing habit into something with more attractive foliage or something maybe?

Canna . Could be Canna indica. Calibrachoa ( yellow) and Scaevola. ( purple )

Stephanie I know you didn't ask..but it may be very god idea to repot plant into better (well draining) potting mix, and give it as much sunlight as possible to assure best color and compact growth. And if possible, try to handle leaves as little as possible - they have powdery covering often referred as farina that shouldn't be rubbed off. It may not be easy...plant will not die if that happens, but looks much better :)
