Summit makes refrigerators in the size you are looking for.

I have seen the Summit refrigerators but they have bad reviews so it wouldn't be something I would purchase.

You might check out some of the "tiny house" websites to see what is discussed there. Beyond that, I'll offer the following suggestions.

Fridges -- me, I'd probably go with a standard top freezer and just deal with having a fridge that is 26 or 28 inches wide. From the reliablity/durability surveys of members of Consumer Reports, it seems that pretty much all major brands of top freezer models run about the same problem rates these days.

Summits are rather more expensive than the more readily available brands.

The size/capacity to get depends on budget and what kind of tenant you expect to have. A friend who leases out a small cabin (350 - 400 sq. ft.) here has had good luck with a 10.7 cu. ft Kenmore. I believe the unit is made by LG for Kenmore, is about 24" wide, and sells for around $400. It has been in his rental for a bit over three years with no problems. If you can go a little wider (27") , there's a Frigidaire/Kenmore model with a 14.5 capacity for slightly more ($430, I think). Several friends got them for their rentals. One friend bought one for his own small house about five years ago. No known issues apart from them being very basic, cheap fridges.

On the 18" dishwashers, somebody else will have to help.

On the ranges, there are only three or four manufacturers.

The Summit stoves that you've seen actually are made for Summit by Brown Stove Works. Brown has had factories in Tennessee and North Carolina for decades. It mostly makes ranges for rebranders including Summit. While Brown makes line of pro-style ranges under its Five Star brand, it's products mainly seem aimed at landlords looking to minimize investments. (I think I read somewhere that they do a lot of business with operators of subsidized housing projects.) Also, have a market in folks who want to replace a defunct a 36" wide, four-coil burner range in an old fashioned kitchen that they do not want to remodel. The coil burner models are very basic, old fashioned units. Price varies from cheap to not so cheap varying with the burner arrangments, with whether the oven doors have windows or not, and with whether or not you get a storage drawer.

A second player in this market segment is the Illinois-based Peerless Premier. These models are carried by the likes of Home Depot and Lowe's and various online vendors. My recollection is that the Peerless ranges are priced a little higher than GE/Hotpoint. I've only laid hands on their
small gas ranges (which seemed pretty cheesy), so I can't speak to the quality
(or lack of it) in their electric models.

The GE models are probably your best bet for quality and durability. GE makes one 24" model that has radiant smoothtop with a self-cleaning oven (runs somewhere between $650 and $900 depending on where you buy it) and four coil-burner models which are sold as plain GE and under GE's Hotpoint brand name. They are priced a bit above and below $500 depending on whether you get a window in the oven door and whether you get a storage drawer. GE/Hotpoint coil-burner ranges have had a good reputation for durability and ease of repair.

Amana is a Whirlpool brand. Don't know if Whirlpool still makes the small electric ranges in-house or if it contracts them out (maybe from Brown?). I kind of recall that the Amana coil burner was actually even smaller than 24-inches, maybe only 20 inches wide. It also is sold under the Danby brand name which out local rural hardware store carries. It sells a few every year. (Ours is an old mining town turned ski resort where some of the old houses are very small and, obviously, so are their kitchens.)

If you are really thinking of induction, you are going to be limited to cooktops (of which there a few induction models under 30") and a wall oven. However, that combination sounds like it might be out of the budgetary question.

Can't help with stacking washers and dryers. Some friends have them but I don't recall enough info to be of any help here. Sorry.

We have the Frigidaire 18 inch dishwasher and love it. It is our first DW so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but it's stainless inside (except for the racks), not as expensive as the Bosch/Miele in it's size, and had great ratings. Cleans great for us.

Where are you located? Blomberg makes nice products but we don't recommend them if you are not near services/parts. Generally they can cover cities and surrounding communities but outside of that, you may have trouble getting coverage.

jwvideo - I did take a look at a few ‘tiny house’ sites and I love those tiny little houses, but I think what they use is too small for me. Actually, I read a blog where someone was describing how to make your own ‘refrigerated box’. lol

Luckily, I was able to spend some time searching last night and I did find a Frigidaire 12 cu ft refrigerator that was reasonably priced and is a 61Hx24Wx29D. So I think I am going to go with that one. And it is available at the Appliance store that we usually shop at who has an excellent service department. So that is an initial decision.

Actually, I haven’t checked out the Kenmores and I still plan on doing that. LG sometimes has nice features.

My next search is going to be for a 24” range. I really hope I can find one. The Summit doesn’t appeal to me at all. And as for the GE/Hotpoint - anything that’s cheesy is something I usually find a waste of money. I will check out the GE though. I very much like a good reputation for durability and repair history I’m thinking $650 - $750. would be where I’d be the most comfortable. I am interested in the Smoothtop. Wish I could afford an induction cooktop. I did see a nice one at Home Depot with an induction top and two ovens, but it was $1290. And it was a 30”.

Actually, someone recommended, I buy two induction hotplates and use them on the counter. But I believe they require a special electrical outlet, so that’s not sounding like a great option. And then I’d have to build an oven into the plan.

The Appliance store where I’ve made purchases before offers a Danby, I believe.

Is this a unit that you are going to renting from somebody else and living in or is that a unit that you will own and rent to others?

I ask, because induction hot plates --- generically referred to as portable induction cookers (PICs) --- have been discussed at some length in several recent threads here. Also, you could search on chowhound for "drrayeye + induction" has outfitted a small-space kitchen using PICS and countertop ovens. Do note that he built the space and was able tio provide appropriate wiring.

Basically, when people talk about a "special circuit" they may be talking about different kinds of things.

Most PICs run on standard 120v outlets. However, the current draw is high enough that each one should be on a separate circuit much as a fridge and dishwasher should each be on a dedicated circuit. When you speak about construction, this is something to consider. .

To be sure, some PICs run on 240v 20amp circuits and, for these, the "special circuits" would be the kind of 240v outlets used for higher-powered window air conditioners and garage space-heaters. For technical references, the plug is classified as as a "NEMA 6-20" which signifies a three-pin plug on 240v 20amp circuit and breaker. (In contrast, most stove outlets will be 40 or 50 amp 240v circuits and most electric clothes dryers with need 30 amp 24ov circuits with 4 pin outlets and plugs.)

Anyway, it is one thing to be a renter and another thing to be the landlord.

I would consider PICs only If I were going to be the renter/leasee of an over-the garage studio apartment and if I were trying trying to fabricate the kitchen for myself, and if the kitchen area had had ready access to three separate electrical circuits. (That is, three circuits over and above the circuits being used for the fridge and dishwasher), I would consider a couple of PICs and a countertop oven. Maybe a Vollrath 59500 with a Max Burton 6400 or a Duxtop 9100, or maybe a pair of the Max Burtons or Duxtops. For an oven, I, as a renter of a basically unfurnished space, might be looking at a small countertop oven such as a Breville 800 smart oven or a Cuisinart CSO300. Thing is, that each of these appliances can pull close to 15 amps when run at high settings, so each needs to be on a its own circuit.

OTOH, if I were going to be the landlord (as it sounds like you are), and if I were building a space to rent out, I would just go with standard appliances. For a really tight space, I would look at the 24" GE/Hotpoint ranges. But, if at all possible, I would be looking at a standard 30" electrical range. Those, whether coil burner or smoothtop, would likely be less expensive to buy and easier to maintain/repair than a 24" unit.
