We went to a nature park yesterday - they only have animals that can't survive in the wild (injured, being rehabilitated, etc). This year a baby caribou was born. So cute!

Do you know the cultivar name? Years ago, I went through a huge daylily phase, but haven't kept up with introductions ones for quite a while now. joanmn, does that water level happen often? A 'rehab' turtle in a secluded lagoon at Coral World, St. Thomas, USVI. There was an attendant there who was tossing lettuce to three turtles.
11 years agoToday's haul from the yard: Nearly a quart of wild blackberries and almost 2 quarts of wineberries (a wild, invasive raspberry relative) As I was picking the blackberries I was reminded of the game Operation. Reaching carefully into the brambly tangle trying to avoid not only the blackberry thorns, but the wild climbing rose, the greenbriar and the poison ivy as well. Not all the dark red juice dripping off my fingertips was from the blackberries.
