I'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Fri July 03
We went to a nature park yesterday - they only have animals that can't survive in the wild (injured, being rehabilitated, etc). This year a baby caribou was born. So cute!

Comments (13)Annie, I would so love to go romping in the woods like I was in my youth finding those Indian Pipes. We kids were so fascinated with them. An older boy scout told us that they would poison us if touched. We took the dare and lived to tell about it. The Great Golden Digger Wasp on the Butterfly Weed is back this year. A 'rehab' turtle in a secluded lagoon at Coral World, St. Thomas, USVI. There was an attendant there who was tossing lettuce to three turtles.
11 years agoToday's haul from the yard: Nearly a quart of wild blackberries and almost 2 quarts of wineberries (a wild, invasive raspberry relative) As I was picking the blackberries I was reminded of the game Operation. Reaching carefully into the brambly tangle trying to avoid not only the blackberry thorns, but the wild climbing rose, the greenbriar and the poison ivy as well. Not all the dark red juice dripping off my fingertips was from the blackberries.
