Check the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use. 2. Click Start 3. When asked, allow the activex control to install 4. Click Start 5. Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt 9. Add the C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt log into your next reply. Comments (42)"What the pro builders said: architects design buildings on paper (ie, computer); we build them in the real world." You would think from your comment that the hands-on aspect of building in the real world would give a builder enough knowledge to avoid mistakes. I have not found this to be true. I find that because many builders have only learned on-the-job from other builders who learned the same way, bad construction practices can be perpetuated for decades. In my experience, where most builders have the most trouble is in lateral structural bracing, moisture control, and structural connections. Sixty to one hundred years ago, when most of the basic residential construction principles were established, materials were cheap, homes were over structured, and moisture control was simple: just kept he water running downward. Today's construction materials are fabricated to minimize material and labor costs and provide a much higher level of moisture and thermal performance. Were does a builder go to learn about these materials and how to put them together? Unfortunately, most information is available only from the manufacturers who often issue it in the form of thinly disguised advertising brochures. Only a hand full of highly experienced consulting engineers actually have a good handle on how these materials are best assembled and some of them are willing to share on the internet. Some builders pay attention to this kind information but I find that most do not. Today, to suggest that a builder is better positioned to understand the principles of good construction is simply not true. The simple fact of the matter is that few builders, architects, or manufacturers have the level of knowledge they really need to be effective. It is such a mess that I have begun to look forward to retirement so I don't have to deal with it anymore....See MoreHow to remove winpc defender

Comments (8)Thanks for the responses and help. I am not using antivirus and removed the the antivirus before my Adobe problems. I checked/installed updates to Windows and IE. I went to Adobe.com and installed/reinstalled. This morning the issues seem partly fixed. When I am on a web page, such as Yahoo, whether in IE or FF, some of the boxes display and some don't. If I go to a web page page, like Yahoo's tech page, that has mostly boxes that have videos in them, I see the text in the boxes but they are otherwise blank. If I click on the box a video then starts playing. I know this isn't how it's supposed to work, but it's better than it was yesterday. Maybe if I wait till the next Adobe or Windows update it will sort itself out? Thanks for the suggestions. If you think of anything please let me know. I think I will put this laptop away for a week or two and use my Win7 laptop instead. I'll check on updates the next time I get it out and hope for the best....See Morejemdandy
