Pool Liner Discoloration

Hello,

I am looking for suggestions regarding the cause for the discoloration appearing on my inground pool vinyl liner.

According to the test strips, the water in balanced. Unfortunatly the pictures are not showing it the best, but hopefully you can see the lighter spots (which are the color the liner SHOULD be) vs. the darker discoloration. The lighter spots are from where PH- dropped down the liner earlier in the summer. This is the third summer we have maintained the pool and we have never had an issue with this before. Our pool guy thinks the discoloration may be caused by minerals in the water, but suggested checking on here for additional opinions.

I don't know about liner pools, but maintaining Calcium levels is important in plaster-lined pools.

My liner discoloration looks exactly like that. Did you ever find a solution, if so, details please?

Sorry for the late reply! It really is impossible, I feel for you. We have our pool opening April 24th, so I guess we'll see! I'll send a pic just before we closed it - that was in October. The water appears more vibrant in the photo than it actually was. Good luck with your selection!

That looks like iron staining. You want to use a granular stain out product and then follow it up with a metal out product and run that through the pool for 2 days NO CHLORINE. Then clean the filters.

Sorry just found out about these forums. Hopefully my answer will help others int he future as you have most likely closed your pool by now.

I don't close my pool, so I need to let all chlorine dissipate and then treat, right??
