Help me figure out my dining area!
Comments (3)Have you considered a round table? Glass top would be lovely but I am a lover of glass topped tables. You could even use the chairs you have and cover the seats with a lively color/pattern. Chandi should be moved over to center of table and lowered. Bamboo rollup shades on the windows. About the sink splash...could you build a small ledge behind the faucets (dining room side) probably about three inches tall by the width of your sink. Granite the color of your counter would be nice but I would try making it oak like your cupboards first to see if it works (keeping the splash contained). Glue it down until you see if it is something that will work. If you put bar stools there, it will cut down on your dining space. Very nice kitchen....See MoreNeed nelp trying to figure out era of Interesting Dining Set

Comments (7)I like the idea of having the switches on the living/kitchen wall, too. :-) And I know you didn't ask, lol, but I'm totally with Miss Artist. Have you ever had a truly well designed kitchen? I've always had dysfunctional ones (fridge --> stove --> sink), and it's such a pain. My in-laws had a really big/nice kitchen that I told my husband you couldn't pay me to have (U shaped, with island in middle, and work order going sink --> fridge --> stove, so yes, to drain pasta, it was easier to place the hot pot on the island, slide it two feet, walk around the island, and drag the pot the remaining two feet, then pick up and drain the water in the sink). Having things in "the right order" -- and islands out of the way -- makes kitchen work less work and more fun! Edited to add: I just reread your other thread, where you talked about being happy with your kitchen layout, so please accept my apologies for bringing it up yet again. ;-)...See MoreNeed help finding a small eat-in dining island/table for my kitchen
Comments (2)We are very happy with the 24 x 30 inch table we ordered from https://butcherblockco.com/john-boos-dining-table-tops. They have a choice of woods and shapes and as small as 24" square or round. We ordered beveled edges on the top and the appropriate size black metal base (they have a chart to help). All is very sturdy and the the top is beautiful . The company was very nice to deal with....See MorePaula
