Reupholstering 1960s couch fabric help

So...I have a 1960s a henredon sofa and the upholstery needs work and I'm having it reupholstered. I LOVE the original fabric, but it's shot with several holes and clearly not made for a house with small kids. The fabric place I went to recommended microfiber, which I wasn't thrilled about. I am leaning to a 10oz natural colored denim, but my upholstery guy is recommending a blend, like sunbrella or another outdoor fabric...anyone with fabric suggestions? Obviously, I don't want to sped a arm and a leg either, as I figure I'll just have to redo it again in 20 years when the kids are out of the house, a dill get what I really want then (ie a reproduction of what's currently on it!) and it needs tone something that I can clean!
