Comments (12)murraysmom, Your Rocket is so cute! I can tell that he has sweet eyes. :) My nut-so actually was upside down, btw: nicole, awwwwww.... poor Midnight! I need to know... is she staying with you? My mom adopted ChooChoo -- same as Midnight, he was an all-black cat that was abandoned when a neighboring renter moved away. ChooChoo always had an eating problem.... I thought it was because he had been left abandoned and starving by his original owner... under my mom's care he ended up winning the "fat cat" contest at the local Humane Society and had a half-page color photo of himself in the city's newspaper. He required a special scale at whopping 32 pounds. He had a 26" waist and at the time he could have fit into my jeans. sigh. Comments (7)My neighbor's Norway Maples (invasive species) deposited more seeds this year than in the previous 5 years. Rather than trying to pull them in the lawn, I spray a selective herbicide. In the flower beds and veggie garden, I use a long digging tool to get them out. Comments (22)Gazania, Teddy was 27. I had him for almost 7 years. I rode him on our trails behind the farm where he lived. He was in great shape most of the time I had him. He developed COPD last year and I could still ride him in the fall, winter and spring. But this spring he developed cancer, so I retired him to live happily with his 10 friends in their 33 acre pasture. It is a 100 acre farm with about 40 horses on it. I never would have thought I would be back riding horses at my age (64) but it has been so much fun. I have a really nice group of friends and one is letting me ride her horse when she can't come out. I'm grateful for that. Teddy was a character. He loved people and coffeecake! :) He had a lot of personality and was a favorite on the farm. He will be missed for sure. Thanks for asking about him. He liked a good roll in the mud. :) And he was just a very handsome boy....See Moresocks
