beth- I would call Natasha Money an icy lavender. I have Sterling Silver and Blue Ribbon which are a little darker in color, but a similar tone or shade. They fade in the sun to a more pale lavender here. On HMF Janet Carnochan's pictures look mostly white. Can the amount of sun a rose receives change it's color? Here in CA, they get a lot of sun so I notice that dark colors seem to be less intense then elsewhere. sam0ny4b - I have Tropicana as a tree rose and it is quite a sight when you have all those colors at once on the bush as it goes from bud to full bloom. jim_w_ny - Ash Wednesday is a very interesting color rose. I would love to see it in person. I have seen Rosa Mundi at a public rose garden and it is something else when in bloom. Thanks again. Clare

Sorry - no photo but I think the most unusual plant in my garden is Persicaria virginiana - Virginia knotweed. Yes, it's a relative of that nasty, invasive Japanese knotweed but it's both benign and native and so far has reseeded in a most well-behaved manner. It's a lovely perennial that happily grows to a moderate size in part sun, part shade and everything in between. The foliage is variegated green and white and sports a burgundy chevron on each leaf so it packs a wallop and stands out in the perennial beds, growing to about the size of astilbe or a medium hosta. It blooms in late fall but the seed-sized flowers, while numerous, are insignificant.

Here are some of mine: ACROPOLIS - unusual shrub rose from Meilland AMBERLIGHT - interesting tannish-yellow FL from LeGrice BROWNIE - bizarre but wonderful colors on a FL from Boerner CIRCUS DAYS - strange GR from Williams, has so many petals it often never fully opens and gets a weird incurving spiral COFFEE COUNTRY - beautiful FL from Viraraghaven FESTIVAL FANFARE - oddball striped sport of FRED LOADS; tries to become a climber and has weird, floppy blooms FIELD OF DREAMS - newer shrub/FL rose from Umsawasdi sold by Certified Roses; often gets these random streaks IRISH CREME - my favorite truly brown rose KALEIDOSCOPE - gets those weird color combinations of mauves and rust and browns with occasional yellow spotting MODERN MAGIC - love the stripes and random speckling on this Christensen FL RAINFOREST - the wonderfully weird greenish-mauve little FL from Ralph Moore RED INTUITION - the gorgeous two-toned red stripe florist rose from Delbard REMEMBER ME - my favorite orangey/peanut butter colored beauty RUSTY - a wonderful, streaky russet FL from Delbard and Certified Roses SHEILA MACQUEEN - the really weird orange-turning-green FL from Harkness TERRA COTTA - rust Meilland florist rose

Good idea for a thread. I was thinking of posting something similar, where people post unusual plant growth, or strange things that happened after pruning, whether intentional or not, or whatever else. For now all I can think of is this, which is a three headed Cheiridopsis seedling (which somehow morphed into the regular two) which is holding up another seedling, possibly a Lithops, which didn't make it.
