Are these grape canes salvageable?

My Perlette grape is suffering from what appears to be powdery mildew this year. I've never seen it before on grape vines in my yard before, but I think it may be because we had a lot of cloudy overcast weather in CA and a very dry winter. The powdery mildew is on the canes, leaves, and berries. I've sprayed with Bonide copper funigicide after noticing the mildew, it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference.

A couple of the canes I planned on using for next years fruiting canes are looking bad, they keep on getting yellower. Are they usable still, if not shall I cut them off now so the disease doesn't spread to the outlying canes??

Are there any mildew resistant table grapes that can be grown in CA?

I'm not an expert but I do have about 10 vines and most of them get phomopsis cane on the shoots every spring (well, for the first two years I've had the grape vines). I use a Captan 50 wp mix and the fungus clears up after one spray treatment. Next year I'm going to try a dormant spray of lime sulfur to see if that helps prevent the fungus because I'd rather not use the chemicals if possible.

Spur or Cane Pruning for Jupiter Grapes

I plan to cane prune mine as I have everything other table grape. I think anything will work cane pruned but some things don't work well spur pruned. My understanding is that spur pruning is popular because it is easier and cheaper and for some things you don't even need a trellis. If you are started as a T on a trellis you could do either this winter. You could try cane the first year and spur the next. See which you like.

Don't cut back Alika - it will sucker if you do a bit of clearing around it. It is a naturally tall plant and with only one cane, it is going to need all the leaves it has to manufacture food. As to whether to dig out the extra Tuscany's or leave them, it's dealer's choice. If you leave them it is perfectly capable of forming a planting 10' across. Or you could remove a few around the edges either to start a new planting or to give away. Carolyn Ferriday used to put hers in what she called a friendship patch - planted off to one side a foot apart so that anyone who wanted one could take a shovel and help themselves.

How do you guys get rid of Phomopsis cane on your grapes? I have a few concord grape vines and for the last two years, they all developed this. I used Captan to control it but it comes back every spring.
