Did I Miss Something?
Comments (56)Wantonamara = Mara ? LOL...Yep. I am highly questionable. I am also very bad with remembering names in real life and not very organized like y'all with your list. Whoa , I am impressed . I usually callpeople by their handles because I never know who is sensitive about having their name displayed online. I have irritated a fiend by posting her by his name and he did not like it so I go by that rule usually unless it has been in common usage....See MoreLakeguy (David) I made the peanut brittle recipe you posted
Comments (4)It is on the second page on the Microwave Fudge thread, but here is the recipe. Microwave peanut brittle ======================== 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoon real butter 1/2 cup light Karo syrup 1 teaspoon baking soda Pinch of salt 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract 1 cup raw, shelled peanuts Heavily spray cookie sheet with Pam. Combine sugar, Karo and salt in a 3-quart casserole (also sprayed with Pam). Stir in peanuts. Microwave at high until brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Stir once or twice during cooking time. Remove from microwave and stir in remaining ingredients until light and foamy. Quickly spread onto greased baking sheet. Spread as thin as possible for brittle candy. Cool; break into pieces....See MoreOT Maybe I should call David Letterman LOL!
Comments (7)Red love your story about Shadow, he must have super powers. We had a cat named Shadow and we moved him from the farm to the city when he was 12. We had a small door cut in the garage so he could get shelter. One morning DH came in excited...I knew my cat was a great hunter, you'll never guess what he caught...a pheasant. We tried to figure out where he would catch a pheasant, it must be at the nearby golf course. A couple nights later he brings home another one. My hubby was just so proud. A few week later Shadow surprised us with a deer leg! Well, I said....so much for your hunter...he is no more that a neighborhood thief...he's stealing someone's game and I sure hope they don't find out where he lives! He was a great cat and lived to 17 years. Jean...See MoreDavid Letterman..uh oh
Comments (40)Oakley, here is a tip that you may find helpful while navigating the message boards: not all posts to a thread are directed at you. It doesnt matter if you start the post or not. It is a public discussion. It isnt your private party. I don't get that so many are fascinated by these topics-- that is my point. It's not about YOU, it is about the entire population. The media wouldnt be responding to what one or two people want to hear about-- as a NATION, we soak this crap up. Had I responded to you, individually, I would have pointed out that comedians poke fun at everything-- including their own selves. Yet, again, it supports my point. Comedians give us the jokes that we respond to. It's a business afterall. He doesnt stand alone as the only one making jokes about public figures caught doing something wrong-- the industry pokes fun at public figures embezzling, cheating, making spectacles of themselves. Again, we feed on that. Look at the comedy from another era, it isnt so focused on public figures or their private lives. What I do agree with is that David Letterman's schtick has become rather bitter and nasty. I watched him for many years-- and have even been in his live studio audience. I don't watch him anymore though because I don't find him entertaining but clearly many still do. We, as a nation, have lost focus on what is important in this world. WE. I am a member of the same public. And for the record, I had no need to reread your post. I read it and each that followed in the discussion. I am a very capable and accomplished woman. I have no problem comprehending the english language or the written word. I don't appreciate your condescending tone. Perhaps that works in your world but it sure doesnt earn my respect in a forum of peers....See MoreGeorgysmom
