Yeah, this neighborhood is, shall I say, special. Every street has a different tree type. Next street over is a Live Oak, street after that is some sort of cypress...And sadly we do have in our HOA clause to have two trees between the side walk and street and you have to have one tree between the sidewalk and the front of the house. It's another story if you have a corner house...I'm just worried when I buy a new one next week, it will die too now. Not to mention it will be a different size than the one next to it. I'm sure the HOA will complain about that too. Clay soil around here, high winds and the fact that it will be 101 today doesn't help but it is my understanding that they like this kind of weather. They throw houses up so quickly around here and it has been said that the trees are planted too deep. RIP my Chinese Pistache!

Thanks Kristi! I was so excited to buy my Amaryllis bulb and was so worried today when it turned red. I actually dug it back up and put it in a pot to keep inside just to keep it safe. =) I am from South Carolina...I think a zone 7. Where are you living? My mom gave me an Amaryllis a couple of years ago. It bloomed the first year and was gorgeous! It didn't bloom this year tho. I kept it inside both years. So is my Amaryllis okay????

You'd have been better off taping 6-mil poly sheeting up on the walls and using that as a water barrier until you could get it "done right". Would have cost you $5. And you'd likely have had a better water barrier on the walls with the poly than you have with that tile. My sarcastic side want me to type that there's not much in the photos that leads me to believe you won't have water intrusion issues again. Well, there is one thing. In the "after photo", no water is running. Leave the water off and you should be fine. Can't properly comment on what I can't see. But I hope the protective coating on the CMU was updated prior to new tile going up. I hope you have proper detailing at the tub flange. Same with the window casing. The gaps behind the edge of the bullnose can be filled. Don't know what specific water issues you had before. Some people do great finish work, some good finish work, some sloppy work. Some people understand the process and go to great lengths when it comes to proper detailing to prevent water intrusion. Some good, some not so good. Very seldom do you get a contractor who goes to great lengths to prevent water intrusion and then covers it with sloppy work. Keep an eye on the shower.
