Is this a sign of termites or something else I should be worried about

Hi All,

I've already called a well respected pest control company but they can't get out here for about a week. We have had minor termite issues in the past (for some reason only in hour red oak hardwood floors, but not in the subfloor, so I am due for some preventive action anyway.

But when walking around the house today I noticed this.

At first I was worried that they were mud tubes, but when I brushed them off (left side of the picture) they weren't hollow and were filled with black powdery stuff that seemed like mold. Also, most of them don't reach the ground so they look more like they're coming out of the wall here. On the right side it looks almost like a glop of it was extruded from the wall and fell down. We've had a good bit of rain recently, but I can't imagine why there would be mildew on the brick, unless it is something like sawdust deposited by termites or - well I really don't know.

Any ideas?
