Anyone have both polished and honed countertops in kitchen?
Comments (7)Our carrara was polished and they honed it for our kitchen and butler's pantry. We used the same Carrara but kept it polished for our master bath vanity. I like the honed better...it looks lighter and "softer." I do think it is fine to mix different stones and finishes in the kitchen, especially what you described. Sounds very pretty!...See Moreanyone have phyllite kitchen countertops?
Comments (0)I am looking for a granite for our kitchen and found a stone called phyllite at the stoneyard. It is a honed gray color. The sales lady didn't know much about it. Has anyone used this for their countertops? I love the color but can't find any info on google about phyllite stone used as a countertop....See MoreNeolith Countertops
Comments (31)Here you go enzaenza, I'm reposting messaging instructions that chemocurl was kind enough to post in another thread: Go to https://www.houzz.com/editProfile Edit Profile -> Advanced Settings -> Privacy Settings -> Who can message me -> select "Allow anyone to message me" (near bottom of page) That will place a "MESSAGE" link on your Member page. (Click on my name to see what I mean.) ADDITIONALLY you will not be able to see your OWN message link on YOUR page, so you might ask that someone message you or let you know if they see it. ADDITIONALLY , you will probably want to turn on getting email alerts whenever you get a new message. On the same Advanced Setting page as noted above choose EMAIL NOTIFICATION...(when) Someone messages me...EVERY TIME....See MoreHelp! Is my new Neolith countertops cut and installed wrong? See pic.

Talked to fabricator, basically he measured/cut wrong. Nothing can be done at this point. They also broke one of the dual vanity bathroom sink when installing vanity counter. When I tried to order another sink for the dual vanity, it'd been discontinued, argh. May need to remove the one sink already installed and buy 2 new sinks. I hate Murphy's Law. Here are more pics. Kitchen peninsula is 123" x 44" plus a another small section that make up the L shape. The seem was done well. A corner was chipped a little. A close up pic shows a surface scratch (really hard to see) and a crack under the surface easily seen. I put an iPhone 6 Plus and a 1.5" glass cabinet door knob on the peninsula as reference. Really love the inset cabinets....See Morenosoccermom
