Toronto Succulent & Cactus Show 2015 - new plants from the sale

last modified: 8 years ago

I got tothe show pretty late, so it seems like most of the sale items are depleted already, but I still managed to grab these two little ones home. They're plants that I've been looking at from online shopping, so it was no-brainer when I saw them there. Both of them are plants that generally require high light, so I shall see how they do on my windowsill...

Need help with the ID for this one, but I think it is a Cheiridopsis candidissima. They look like bunny ears :P. Anyone growing this species? I know it's a winter growing mesemb, so I'm not sure if I should water it or not even though it is quite wrinkly.

Under lights the leaves are so cool, love the tiny windows

The other is Astrophytum myriostigma (var. strongylogonum?) It is a small 2" plant, the guy there said it might flower next summer, but I doubt it...

Again any care tips would be highly appreciated, I don't have much knowledge on cacti in general. From what I read I'm going with light-watering (once a month) in summer, and none in winter.
