Question about bugs flying out of American Boxwood

I posted a question last year, asking if we should trim our large upright boxwoods. A fellow reader said they were American Boxwoods. One has some branches this year that are pale and off color. We are in the process of trimming them out- but it is a large job, as these plants are probably 15' tall. I noticed a fair amount of light colored (whitish looking) insects flying out of the boxwoods last evening when I brushed them with my hand. Does this ring a bell with anyone, and if it does, what should I spray them with?
