Adult Turkey Vulture

Yes, here's a turkey vulture visiting our place. A noble bird that does a lot of cleanup. This one landed in the tree to get away from a crow who was dive bombing it. They both wanted custody of a dead skunk.

There were at least 3 of these birds, then they settled to eat a dead squirrel run over by a car.

They are nature's garbage men! I live near a park with mature trees that is sandwiched at the intersection of two busy roads. The turkey vultures settle in on a garage roof across from the park a block from the intersection and just have a buffet! They are magnificent.

Turkey vulture - their features are really quite beautiful if you can get past the crazy head ! He's the "clean up crew" of the nature world.
