Please help identify these plants in my yard
Comments (4)Looks like common mallow (Malva neglecta). Generally it is a pretty annoying weed. They have a long, woody taproot that is hard to pull out. If you want to get rid of them, make sure to not let them go to seed. Comments (3)The easiest way to ID weedy grasses is from the inflorescence, the seed producing stalk. Compare your weed to Dallisgrass, you could also try asking on the grasses forum or Name That Plant. Good luck!...See MoreNeed Help Identifying Grass in My Front Yard. Pic Included.
Comments (5)So far, the Tall Fescue has appeared to do very well. It could obviously be better, but I honestly just did not do anything with it the first summer I was here. I am going to add some seed to it this year as well as add some fertilizer. The Tall Fescue is under two pretty large trees so I never had an issue during the hottest days of the year. I really like the grass as well as it stays green all year long. Even after we had 3 inches of snow fall, when the snow melted, the grass was still green. As I mentioned, I am going to be actually working on taking care of the lawn this year, so I expect to see great results!...See MoreHelp identifying this plant I dug up in my SF Bay Area yard

Yet Jacobson, Wild Plants of Greater Seattle - Second Edition (2008) does not mention it (5 other species of Privet are listed by him as occurring wild there). However seedling asked about looks like L. japonicum anyway. (Jacobson (same) says this one "reseeds" in Seattle)....See Moreeterprincess
