I'm so upset
Comments (14)Good suggestions above. Also, large institutions may have more than one "Lost and Found" (e.g., one on the wing or floor, and another in a central office area or security office). It seems to me that someone who mentioned that she was turning it in (although she could have just slipped it into a pocket without saying anything) was being honest. Another possibility is that the person who found the camera didn't have time to bring it to the L&F as she was going home. If that person is a frequent visitor, she may return another day and bring the camera with her. So there's still hope. Would the hospital permit you to post a sign in the rest room where you lost the camera? I sure hope you find it! But, if not, at least you'll have the memories. My very best wishes to you and your sister, Sue...See MoreAm I wrong if I feel betrayed, hurt and upset?
Comments (4)I'm with the rest--whether you have your degree, or are 3 credits short isn't something I'd see as a big deal no matter what. And make no mistake about it--you should be FURIOUS with your husband. HE GAVE YOUR SS # OUT. That's not cool. It's so far and beyond the teeny little infraction of how close you are to graduation that it's mind-boggling. Your husband says he can't trust you? YOU can't trust him on important things. You have no way of knowing, now, how far that # has gotten, and if in years to come you're going to be dealing with identity theft. You need to make sure your husband knows that he is NEVER EVER to hand that number over to anyone, ever, without your permission. I've been married 39 years, to a wonderful man I have always trusted, and who trusts me. To this day, I will not put his SS # on anything or give it to anyone without checking with him first. It's not my place to disseminate that info--it definitely wasn't your husband's place to use it against you. You have some serious issues to handle--probably time to consult with a counselor and your own (not your family) lawyer--you have some potential legal issues here, that need to be properly handled so things don't get worse....See Moreso upsetting..privacy issue...am I crazy?
Comments (31)You can always try what one of my mother's coworkers did - she was divorced and wanted to feel more secure, but had kids so was concerned that if she had a gun an accident would happen. So she compromised and got a shotgun/rifle/whatever with one of those bolt-actions (do they have shotguns with bolt actions?). Anyway, whatever it was, it was the kind of gun that makes that distinctive click-clunk sound, but she didn't ever get shells/bullets for it. If she thought she heard a noise she'd click-clunk the gun, figuring that if it was a potential intruder she'd heard they weren't going to stick around to find out whether it was really loaded or not. Obviously I am not au courant on my firearms. The only kind of guns I've really ever shot much are flintlock rifles; they're really fun to shoot at the range but wouldn't be very practical for home protection. "Hey, can you hold on a couple minutes while I load this thing? Damn, the powder was damp, wait a minute.... oh crap, now I've got to turn the flint because it's not sparking... Hey, come back with my TV!" :)...See MoreSo, so upset with major purchase
Comments (150)UPDATE: So I received an answer from the owner of the store who is hanging with the manufacturer in the USA right now. He brought the furniture back to the builder and discussed the issues I had with it. He explained his policy as this is custom ordered, not just taken from a shelf. They have never sold this set as painted before, they cannot give a refund until they try to solve the issues with the product. The painter was different from the builder and had the builder seen it it wouldn't have passed inspection. So the owner and manufacturer are proposing that when the owner goes down to the US again at the end of October, he will bring back beautiful furniture that is painted by the manufacturer who has experience painting kitchen cabs and will be inspected by the owner of the manufacture company. Then before it is delivered to our house, we will go to the store to inspect it. So they have my 4K and I'm not getting furniture for another 2 months. So now what? It's not just the finishing, cross bars were cracked and the backs were hacked (as per the pics!). It sounds like they will fix the cosmetic stuff, but I don't know. I just have such a bad taste in my mouth about this whole thing now. The owner of the local store says he is in the US and doesn't get internet most of the time, so I can contact him next week. Do you think I have enough to open a formal dispute with the cc company, or because they are trying to fix it I'm stuck with it? THANK you for all your advice and wisdom!...See MoreUser
