Jadie...your terrific humour is always welcome!! Post a pic of that rubber mulch when you get it, ok? Throw it in here or start a vry funny post..lol Moc...I actually am seeing a satiny sheen on your June...it's beautiful. Prairie moon...you have a gorgeous specimen of June...the leaf you pointed out actually has some variegation on top left of leaf...see what Spring will bring...I had June for at least four years before it sported the blue. I culled it because I wanted to grow it..I used to have Halcyon, which is a parent of June. As I've learned from Idiothe's wonderful 'tutorial' which I will find for you, some solid sports are very vigorous growers and if left to grow alongside the parent, can take over. Some of our forum gardeners pinch it out, or pull it off, or cut it...I let it grow for a full year and I'm so happy with its size and vigour. It will grow as H. 'Halcyon' in my garden (potted up for now).

Sharon, I look forward to receiving my block! No, Linda and I didn't make the sacks. I'm disappointed about that not working out. I've cut out my block but haven't sewn it yet. My daughter committed a knitted blanket to a camp for disabled kids and it has to be there by Monday. She didn't make enough squares, so she is busy knitting like crazy and I am connecting the blocks for her. So if I am not doing that, I have been in the garden! I feel like I have had such a long summer already, instead of feeling like the summer has flown by. That will probably come later. Dan, good for you. I go crazy when the piles start building up, whether it's fabric, papers or stained glass. So I spent a lot of time this last week also folding all my fabric. I'll post a picture later. I don't have a lot of fabric, but it's all organized now and I can find in an instant what I am looking for. Love it. Got to work at the Master Gardeners garden walk today, make food for another daughters dinner party tonight and maybe find time to clean house today...the last think on my list each day which I never seem to get to in the sumnmer. LOL

Have a grand time Glenda! I have a friend who played piano at the place I used to frequent in Indian Rocks Beach,FL. He played there for years before he retired from the Post Office. Then, 3 yrs ago-became an entertainer on the Royal Caribbean in the Lounge. He & his wife love the 'cruise life' and they just arrived in Tampa a couple days ago from Austrailia. They sail back out again in mid-Feb. IF you happen to be on his ship-his name is Kelly Goodrich and he does awesome medleys of Elton John, Elvis, etc...props & all. Great music, vocals and FUN! Make sure you post pics for us to see of your trip.

What a great idea for a whole bed. Keep those catapillars off the cabbage! I use tulle bags for seed saving on tomatoes. They work great! I have used the heavier nylon netting from the fabric stores to cover my tomato cages prior to a hail storm. The hail just bounces off the netting... Unless it is too big, then it tears. I have had success with 1" hail and no damage to my plants. I keep a big garbage bag in the garage full for just that purpose. I have been know to be covering my garden DURING the storm, which is not too smart. :) Hit by hail is one thing. Lightning strikes are a little more serious. :)
