Remember the discussion about pillows?

After years of trying and failing to find a pillow that I liked, I finally ordered a Natura ultimate. I'm a lifelong feather/down user so I'm a tough customer.

I think I love this pillow. It's both soft and firm, fully supportive but not hard. It's comforting and comfortable, much like my beloved feathers.

But here's one of best things about this pillow.......(drum roll)......it doesn't get hot! I was flipping my feather pillows all night long, but didn't wake to do it at all with the Natura.

Last night was my first with this pillow and I'm very impressed. A durability review to follow in a couple of years. :-)

I just bought this one a Mlily I like it. Its a memory foam and quite dense

I love my latex pillows, all of them have the holes in them that allows them to breathe and air to circulate. They are heavy but so wonderful to sleep on.

Memory foam is horrible it is extremely hot and I feel like I will be sucked into it. I had to wrap a towel around my head or the pillow when I bought one of those kind to try.

I plan on always having a good latex pillow. But I have found you don't have to spend big bucks to get a good quality latex pillow.

I just had my mattress guy order a latex topper for my new King mattress. The mattress has those divets on the top that look like if it had buttons that pull down tufted and I want to lessen the up and down of those on the surface and give me a little more plush feel. My joints hurt so much I need a little plushness. He offered me a great price for a king size so I am going to go for it.

Glad to hear of another happy latex lover.

O how can I forget, lol..was this supposed to add to the confusion or end it, cuz the page is blank for me, lmao. Edna, you're such a dear heart :) That's interesting, that's how all my ones marked CG seem to be. so maybe they are indeed Dr. Seuss'. o who knows. I'll prob wind up tagging them as NOID's. We are dealing with my father who has had signs of vascular dementia for a few years as in being forgetful. He has some health issues which has landed him the hospital with an infection in his leg which traveled through his blood stream. He has been so weak, he can no longer walk and get to the toilet without assistance. Up to a day ago, he had a pick line with antibiotics still. He was sent to a rehab hospital where he refused medication, refused rehab and pulled out his pickline. He wants to go home, but my mom can not care for him at home. He was discharged to a skilled nursing center with an excellent rehab facility on Friday night and we have hired Home Instead to have people sit with him at night. He is extremely angry, uncooperative, threatening to take us all to court because he wants home care at home. He is cussing out the Home Instead people at night and calling us at all hours of the night asking why he is there and is unable to hear any logic due to paranoia(we are all out to get him) and/or stubbornness, but until he starts cooperating, it's hard to get him home. Such a catch22. Just looking for advice. I live out of town and for the last few weeks, I have been going up to support them, but it is wearying. Not sure if this is dementia or he is just being self absorbed.

One of the "other" possibilities from the South would be "cold drink". As in, "wanna stop and get a cold drink?" I went to college at the University of Missouri, which is in Columbia, right smack in the middle of the state. I was amazed at the different slang terms used among those from the St. Louis side of the state vs. those from the KC side of the state. Soda vs. Pop. "40 Highway" vs. "Highway 40." And the addition and deletion of the "r" sound in many words. St. Louis folks would pay with "quotters" and KC people would "warsh" things. I think another interesting "study" would be the names for athletic shoes. Sneakers, tennis shoes, trainers, running shoes, etc. I'm a military brat so I think I picked up things from all over. My husband insists that I say "melk" instead of "milk", and I have no idea where that came from!

I tried it--in fact, I bought a large bottle (360 caps) by Neutraceuticals from Vitacost.com. I didn't try it for long, though, because it seemed to make my joint pain worse. I can't say for sure that the ACV was responsible, but I stopped at least temporarily. Later I read that it is the acid in grapefruit and oranges that causes joint pain for some, so perhaps the acid in ACV is the problem. Somehow that doesn't seem all that likely, though, so I may give it another try. If that doesn't work, I'll be offering the bottle as a giveaway on the KT. :-) My joints are feeling relatively good now, though. Giving up peanuts and grapefruit made a huge difference! For sure we are all different. I was anti-memory foam and pro-latex for years. I had two unsuccessful experiences with latex mattresses, but enjoy the latex topper I have on my present bed. I bought two latex pillows, but was never very comfortable with either of them. I need something that gives specific support to my neck. Down or down/feather pillows can do this, but I would always have to adjust them during the night.

When my daughter started using a pillow like this (click here), I thought it looked totally unappealing. I jokingly called it "the brick." I couldn't imagine sleeping comfortably on memory foam. But some time ago I bought one for myself, and I am hooked. I sleep on my back, and the lower side fits perfectly under my neck. I love that it doesn't bunch up around my ears. I don't move all night--and that is a first for me!

That is exactly like the one I had bought that made me sweat so bad that I had to use a towel with it. I did like how it fit my neck though.

Memory foam is notoriously hot because it's so dense.

rhizo, very glad you love the Ultimate. I love mine and will definitely get another when the time comes to do so.

Meanwhile, as for latex mattresses and toppers, from what I've read, you want Dunlop latex. For pillows, Talalay.

I have buckwheat hull pillows I got in Japan. Great for my neck pain.

Unfortunately it's me and the memory foam that have a problem it all makes me hot and sweaty no matter where I am lol. My new rv came with a serta memory foam mattress brand new in the plastic, it's no longer in the rv I ordered a brand new one just like the other custom one I had made for the other rv No memory foam any where! I have a great mattress guy. I put the serta on one of the guest beds hopefully someone will be OK sleeping on it. Lol.
