Remember the discussion about pillows?

After years of trying and failing to find a pillow that I liked, I finally ordered a Natura ultimate. I'm a lifelong feather/down user so I'm a tough customer.

I think I love this pillow. It's both soft and firm, fully supportive but not hard. It's comforting and comfortable, much like my beloved feathers.

But here's one of best things about this pillow.......(drum roll)......it doesn't get hot! I was flipping my feather pillows all night long, but didn't wake to do it at all with the Natura.

Last night was my first with this pillow and I'm very impressed. A durability review to follow in a couple of years. :-)

I just bought this one a Mlily I like it. Its a memory foam and quite dense

I love my latex pillows, all of them have the holes in them that allows them to breathe and air to circulate. They are heavy but so wonderful to sleep on.

Memory foam is horrible it is extremely hot and I feel like I will be sucked into it. I had to wrap a towel around my head or the pillow when I bought one of those kind to try.

I plan on always having a good latex pillow. But I have found you don't have to spend big bucks to get a good quality latex pillow.

I just had my mattress guy order a latex topper for my new King mattress. The mattress has those divets on the top that look like if it had buttons that pull down tufted and I want to lessen the up and down of those on the surface and give me a little more plush feel. My joints hurt so much I need a little plushness. He offered me a great price for a king size so I am going to go for it.

Glad to hear of another happy latex lover.

There are companies that do this "Flocking". I imagine the lettering on the sign is a silly saying. She's just 15, LOL. Executives here, in mansions, have woke up to find 50 or more (depending on their age) in their yards. I think its a hoot. Wonder if 63 flamingos would fit in my little front yard? LOL. Pheasantfarmer - there was also my thread on dinnerware some months ago which I'll link below. I probably should have posted on that thread what we ended up with, which is the Ikea 365+ white dishes. Now that we have been using them for 5 months or so, we absolutely love them. I am not sure if they are too white for you, they are a creamy white, but the degree of "creaminess" is such a subjective judgement. What we like about the Ikea 365+ dinnerware: -white, plain, has a border (I don't like plates with no border cause the food can spill out easier, and the border makes the food look prettier) - OMG are they reasonably priced. We also looked at Pottery Barn, Pier 1, and several other plain white dishes. The Ikea were the cheapest by far, and seemed as good or better quality than at the other stores. At the store, we couldn't believe the price, it seemed too good to be true - they are sold in sets of 36 comprising dinner plate, lunch plate and soup/cereal bowl, all for about $25. There are also many separate mix-and-match choices in the way of platters, mugs, etc. - they are flat enough that they fit so well in our dishwasher; our previous thick dishes had to be squeezed between the tines of our dishwasher. - made of sturdy Feldspar porcelain - not made in China - Ikea has strict quality control regarding lead, formaldehyde, etc. - if we or teenage boys break one, so what, given the price. Though none has been broken yet. While we were at Ikea, we also bought their Pokal glasses. They are really sturdy, look classic, have a nice "feel" to them (I don't like thin-glass glasses, or glasses that feel like they'll easily tip over), and gee, they are $.99 each. Hi again - I found an old thread I started when my sink cracked (pressure cracks, I'd written). The disposal I have is a 1 hp Insinkerator which Rohl said isn't a problem. I'm wondering if this comment someone wrote about a putty might be what I'd read in the past. If you're knowledgable about such things, please let me know if this makes sense to you reading this!: "I can get things tight enough that most of the guys I work with cannot loosen them without tools, and my regular plumber can get them tighter than I can. Making sure the joint has some decent durometer rubber to conform to the surfaces is a much better way (and the rubber acts as a locking mechanism)." Thanks!

Don't know what thread you were reading. But you said you wanted the crust to be less thick and puffy than you are getting. Sounds like you don't want the thick armor of crust that I associate with some "fish and chips" shops. And sounds like the commercial product that was right-texture-but-too-salty was a dry mix in which you dip the moistened shrimp. So you might try making a thin batter of just water or milk plus egg, moistening the shrimp in that, then rolling lightly in your own not-too-salty dry mix of flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, plus bread or panko crumbs, and deep-frying. I don't think it is necessary to get all mad scientist with baking soda, vodka, nanoparticles and dark matter just to deep fry shrimp - no-one's grandma ever did that!

For sure we are all different. I was anti-memory foam and pro-latex for years. I had two unsuccessful experiences with latex mattresses, but enjoy the latex topper I have on my present bed. I bought two latex pillows, but was never very comfortable with either of them. I need something that gives specific support to my neck. Down or down/feather pillows can do this, but I would always have to adjust them during the night.

When my daughter started using a pillow like this (click here), I thought it looked totally unappealing. I jokingly called it "the brick." I couldn't imagine sleeping comfortably on memory foam. But some time ago I bought one for myself, and I am hooked. I sleep on my back, and the lower side fits perfectly under my neck. I love that it doesn't bunch up around my ears. I don't move all night--and that is a first for me!

That is exactly like the one I had bought that made me sweat so bad that I had to use a towel with it. I did like how it fit my neck though.

Memory foam is notoriously hot because it's so dense.

rhizo, very glad you love the Ultimate. I love mine and will definitely get another when the time comes to do so.

Meanwhile, as for latex mattresses and toppers, from what I've read, you want Dunlop latex. For pillows, Talalay.

Unfortunately it's me and the memory foam that have a problem it all makes me hot and sweaty no matter where I am lol. My new rv came with a serta memory foam mattress brand new in the plastic, it's no longer in the rv I ordered a brand new one just like the other custom one I had made for the other rv No memory foam any where! I have a great mattress guy. I put the serta on one of the guest beds hopefully someone will be OK sleeping on it. Lol.
