Comments (4)Molly, that very well may be a Reaper. I grew them last year and got only 3 tiny little fingernail sized peppers, none had seeds in them. I tried to grow them in a pot, maybe that was the problem. This year I have a single Carolina Reaper in my garden. Comments (0)I ended up having to purchase Carolina Reaper plants from a local nursery - the seeds I planted were doing great until they failed to be watered (oops) while I was recovering from an injury. So, the plant is in a 5 gallon container and I hope to bring it in later in the fall and keep it under lights in the basement. I'm bringing several to a poker game tonight to taunt some people who claim 'I can eat anything'. Comments (1)If it did good in a pot but not in the ground, I'd look at the ground. It looks like some type of chemical might be in play - termite treatments, bug treatments, RoundUp, etc. Also, being planted that close to a block wall receiving direct afternoon sun in southern CA might cause a heat problem....See Moremalik2468
