I personally would prefer a matched pair, but it looks okay with the two you have. Do you need two there, or could you just take one away and play with the arrangement of the table and art to make it work? I might take away the tall vase and put something lower on the table or perhaps nothing at all.

Do you actually need the extra chairs? They're not really integrated with the rest of the seating and it looks like you're just wanting to fill the space. Unless you need them, I would rather see a narrow console there.

I wish we didn't use the chairs but we do often. I'd much rather put a console, table,etc. I'm not loving the look of the chairs . Any other ideas to jazz up the area??

Would a long ottoman give you adequate seating rather than 2 chairs? If you need the chairs, I'd get a lower table to put between them.

I think a new table between the chairs might help. Any suggestions for type of table to look for?

Added a pillow. should I change the table. I wanted to use my granite piece, but don't have to.

Also I've ordered another gold chair to use in another room, but will try in this space to match the chairs when I get it to see how that works.

Have you tried putting the chair with arms over where the two different chairs are and putting one chair facing the coffee table at each end of the couch?

I did try the chair in that spot, but its too big and blocks access to the door (workout room)

The way I see it, the current chairs and table make that side too 'leggy'. I'd try something lower without legs. Maybe a small trunk.

How about a counsol table with a couple benches or ottomans underneath it. They can be moved over when you need extra seating and they are out of the way when you don't need it.

I inherited this one from my mother. I love being able to display things on top, store things in the drawers and easily wheel the benches out when we need extra seating.
