yellow leaves are always blight?
Comments (7)"All plant problems start with the soil they are growing in, so start there."? C'mon. That's a very broad brush to be painting with again. Mechanical injury, poor watering habits, herbicide drift, rusts, wilts, ..... I can think of a dozen w/o breaking a sweat that are totally unrelated to the soil. There are many pests AND diseases that don't give a whit (that's whit) about how robustly the plant is growing. Again, it sure would be nice to see a picture or get more precise information so we can maybe put the diagnosis in front of the cure. It does SOUND like blight or a mold disease, but a picture might be more helpful. The problem with molds & things fungal is that they're best treated prophylactically because they are very hard to fix once they have a hold, and those fungicides apt to be effective as a fixitive don't fit well with an organic ideology. Comments (4)Thanks, here is the answer from my local extension. I guess it is all over our area after 2 weeks of rain: Your tomatoes (and most tomatoes on farms) have septoria leaf spot, a fungal disease that is a little more aggressive than early blight. Most fungal and bacterial diseases start on the lower leaves and work their way up the plant. If you have the option to pull a few plants with this disease and plant some from a local greenhouse, that may protect the rest of the planting. If the spots are on too many plants to pull them all, then you can at least slow it down by removing lower leaves. Without a commercial fungicide, it may still spread....See MorePossible early blight questions
Comments (3)If they are toward the stem, it's not BER. As far as ripening goes, green ones don't ripen well unless they have started to turn. I can't get a completely green one to turn at all--I think they are good for nothing but fried green tomatoes. There are some other pathogens that cause rotten spots....keep looking for pics. I wish I could help more with the diagnosis, but it's all so confusing sometimes....See Moresam131038_7b-NC
